There is an entirely different discourse in the game threads during basketball games because many posters will post to those threads while they're watching the games, and the responses they get are from other posters doing the exact same thing. Posters don't give context because they know their audience is equally as engaged as they are. That is not the case with baseball games. I bet you can count on one hand (and you probably wouldn't even need all of your fingers) how many posters are actively watching the livestream of a Jays baseball game at any given time. It wouldn't surprise me if you were the only one. I could be wrong, but I don't think you've had a single poster respond in kind when you've made an in-game observation about what's happening on the field.

If you're inclined to provide commentary on games, I think it's reasonable to assume you're doing so for the purpose of engaging with other Creighton baseball fans. That's great. If you want engagement, though, you have to know your audience; you should expect that most of your engagement, if any, will come well after a certain play or game has taken place. It's hard to generate engagement when almost your entire audience didn't watch the game and can't piece together what you're talking about.

Like RH, that's just my two cents. If you don't want to take my (our) advice, that's entirely your prerogative. Maybe if you want to keep posting this way, you should start a single baseball thread that is just for your running in-game commentary throughout the season. That would at least leave this thread open for more general baseball discussion.

I’m open to suggestions. But in this very thread and NYC poster said he gets his in game information from my posts and from the stat tracker. So there is at least one person who benefits from it. It’s not my fault other people don’t watch the games. If you don’t, then seeing in game commentary might help. In any case one, perhaps 2, posters here have commented that they follow the in game posts. So why not just live and let live rather than cast the proverbial message board stone? As always, go jays.

As for more general baseball discussion, that too, is few and far between on this thread. I’ve done the below:
“though, you have to know your audience; you should expect that most of your engagement, if any, will come well after a certain play or game has taken place. It's hard to generate engagement when almost your entire audience didn't watch the game and can't piece together what you're talking about.” Too.

I’ve posted thoughts on the season and certain decisions made by Ed. Hardly anyone replied then too. Now, with yours and others suggestions to me about how I should post about Bluejay baseball, we’ve had more discussion here than ever before. Keep it up! If only we could convert that or this discussion into discussion about Jays baseball. So here goes another one. I’d like to see Unga become a midweek starter. He has solid stuff. Or at least develop into our middle inning reliever for 2 or 3 innings at a time. Also I love that we have 2 catchers with strong arms who can both hit for power.

Because of the snow still on the field and the water runoff, the weekend series has been altered, per gocreighton.com. No game today. Game tomorrow at 3 pm. Doubleheader Sunday.

Ben north just scooped up a tough one off a bad bounce off the mound. Good defense to start. Hope that was a descriptive enough post.

Good play by Conor to get the ball off the third strike off the backstop and throw the guy out. Good throw. Dom is looking good.
