There is an entirely different discourse in the game threads during basketball games because many posters will post to those threads while they're watching the games, and the responses they get are from other posters doing the exact same thing. Posters don't give context because they know their audience is equally as engaged as they are. That is not the case with baseball games. I bet you can count on one hand (and you probably wouldn't even need all of your fingers) how many posters are actively watching the livestream of a Jays baseball game at any given time. It wouldn't surprise me if you were the only one. I could be wrong, but I don't think you've had a single poster respond in kind when you've made an in-game observation about what's happening on the field.
If you're inclined to provide commentary on games, I think it's reasonable to assume you're doing so for the purpose of engaging with other Creighton baseball fans. That's great. If you want engagement, though, you have to know your audience; you should expect that most of your engagement, if any, will come well after a certain play or game has taken place. It's hard to generate engagement when almost your entire audience didn't watch the game and can't piece together what you're talking about.
Like RH, that's just my two cents. If you don't want to take my (our) advice, that's entirely your prerogative. Maybe if you want to keep posting this way, you should start a single baseball thread that is just for your running in-game commentary throughout the season. That would at least leave this thread open for more general baseball discussion.
