Hampton Roads to Blacksburg is about a 5 hour drive. Drive another 2+ hours on I-81, and you hit Knoxville. Clearly, he was never going to go that far from home at this point in his life.

Ridiculous. Leave one program and scumbag coach and commit to another. Good luck, pal. Clearly he never intended on coming to Creighton. But he sure was good at stringing the staff along and eating up a good chunk of their summer recruiting efforts.

Then why did we spend countless hours and tons of cash trying to get him?

Yeti's right. We didn't get him and we can't do anything more, so let's just move on. Move on to another player who is serious about coming here.

"Clearly" could be the wrong word. But, he's a top 60 prospect and his number one and two schools were the Vols and the Hokies? At least to me, it looks like Clarke wanted to stay reasonably close to home, his family didn't want him going too far, or both. Our coaches obviously thought they had a good chance at getting him, and it's not as though someone as relatively interested in Creighton as Clarke appeared to be was going to tell the staff, while they're actively recruiting him, that Omaha was too far from home.

Unlike the McQuaid situation, where there was a long second recruitment, this isn't upsetting to me.

The speculation on VolNation is fantastic:

"Like I said, read between the lines and this ones pretty clear. Clarke was a VT lean, Donnie pulled a couple shady strings to land him, this pissed off Buzz and stirs up enough crap to be sure an investigation is coming...Buzz in sure stayed in contact with the Clarke family and planted this seed awhile back."

"I might as well spill the beans now that it doesn't even matter.

My VT source told me Tyndall is a cheater. He found a "job" for Clarke's brother and that was one of the ways he was able to nab him originally. That same source told me that the Southern Miss investigation was coming, but I had no idea that lid would be blown off today, figured it was a bit down the road.

I also took it with a grain of salt since he was obviously butt hurt about losing Clarke, so I figured he embellished on some of the Tyndall stuff, but apparently not lol.

I didn't want to say any of this yesterday because I assumed I would get lambasted, but it is all out in the open anyway now lol. Jeez"

Well then that will help us with Nerijus Karlakonovas Jr we are looking at who also had an offer from Va Tech.

Move on from Clarke. He has no interest in CU.
I don’t vet ‘em, I just post ‘em.
