Okay, the talk has been that Severe was interested in CU, but his family wanted him to stay on the east coast. It was also widely believed, according to ESPN, that Rutgers was in the lead for his services.

According ESPNInsider, with all of the scandal and firings at Rutgers in the last few days, Rutgers is now out:

The 6-foot-2 Severe, a swingman and great attacker, is being recruited most heavily by Creighton, West Virginia, Rutgers, and Fordham. Severe has also received offers from Boston College, George Washington, and Kansas State, among others. Ranked No. 6 in the state, he'll be an infusion of talent wherever he goes and likely can compete for serious rotation time if he chooses a mid-major. More work will be done by schools but consider us surprised if Rutgers emerges from the wreckage with a commitment from Severe.

Could that put us back in the picture or improve his family's lack of willingness to have him come out to Omaha? Despite distance, I've got to think we are a better option than Fordham, GW and Boston college.... I hope the coaches are still in touch.

Couple things, apparently Severe got injured on friday w/some knee problem that apparently required him going to the hospital on an ambulance. Hopefully it's not too serious. I hope he is still interested in us. Also, Pitt is also very interested in him so that's tough competition.

Him and Brooks appear to bring largely the same product to the table..With our commit from Brooks I doubt we offer this guard. Especially now that this injury could complicate things.

I still think we should go after him. Obviously, who knows what kind of injury he has but he is great prospect and is a four year player, especially if Lee does not come.

Sounds like the rumors of Omaha being too far away for his family are true. He cut his list and is down to: Seton Hall, West Va, Fordham, Wake Forest and Pitt.
