It is annoying to have my phone linked to the stats at the Creighton website. Do we have to wait for a new scoreboard to get this. CU has to compete with FS1 etc. Every single game is on TV or streaming. I shouldn't have to get a text from a friend giving me the information I should have for paying for the live experience. This is not new, I asked these questions to Ras and he always said they don't control CHI, that Mecca does. I struggle to believe that answer

Replays are the single biggest issue that will prevent me from renewing after 17 years. I also go to Iowa State games. Every close play is replayed. I don't understand why we don't. I can think of a few close games where it made a difference.

That’s the thing that will prevent you from renewing season tickets?

I hate replays too but it doesn’t make me want to give up on the sport.

Hey Longtimer,

Maybe change your user name if you’re not going to games because of replays.

It's not that I hate replays it's that we don't have them. If the powers that be deem that replays aren't a priority, I find that short sighted. I can sit at home and not drive 2 hours each way to the games only to have friends and family from around the country text about what the replays showed. I'm not talking about stoppage of play replays, which have gotten out of control in my opinion, it's the normal plays that nearly every arena in America shows. That adds to the experience, and our administration takes that away. I guess while I'm at it, my second biggest bitch is why don't the ushers stop people from walking to their seats while the game is going on. Try that at MSG, Pauley or UNO hockey, you'll be stopped. I asked the ushers about it and they said some events have them do it and some don't and Creighton doesn't. Will I give up my tickets this year not sure. For me this up coming year are the kind I like the best. Lots of new faces, it's fun to watch them grow as a cohesive unit as the year progresses. And like I told Mac keep giving us a week in January and a week in February with no home games so we can get out of the cold for bit.

I agree about the replay mess, but it's only #4 on my bitch list.

Third are those damn parking meters. They've gone from a quarter per hour to the special $5 "event rate". Even if it's an 8 PM tip and meters stop metering at 9, we gotta pay five bucks for the privilege of hiking half a mile through mountains of plowed snow and slush to the "special event". And then back again. Somebody has to put their foot down to protest unchecked city greed, and that foot is me.

Second is the chicken tenders basket, which went up another buck. Or, was it two this season? Nearly as much of a ripoff now as the "jumbo" hot dogs. (Seriously, MECA? Jumbo?? If your wives aren't buying it, why do you think we will)? If chicken fingers keep going up while tesla stock prices keep coming down, pretty soon, one will cost as much as the other. And that becomes a bad deal for both.

But at the top of my list...our French horn player went into the band portal. Wants to march around on a football field or something. If our brass section is going to keep getting plundered because of football, I expect the athletic department to make a ticket cost adjustment. Or, add football. And don't get me started on how they dumped the cartoon Billy stomping the opponent in the pre-game videos. That's gold, Jerry. Gold! Well, it was anyway.

So, until the ath dept comes to the negotiating table in good faith, instead of this "the ticket prices are the prices. Either pay it or stay home" crap, we will be at an impasse, and my tickets hang in the balance. Are you listening, Marcus? (I know he is, even if he pretends he isn't. That's so Marcus).

You just hang in there, Longtimer. Don't let these other guys roast you for your principled stand on replays. Some day we'll have state of the art replays and stats and video boards, and all of us will be standing on your shoulders because you gave up your tickets for it.

New Parking meters - $5 special event pricing: Have it on good account-city council member- that the funds from the parking meters are earmarked for maintenance on the street car. Got the idea the city is VERY interested in increasing parking revenue-goes to the " enterprise" fund. The reply I got was well riding the street car is free, but as usual in life there is no free lunch

When an event's a half-mile away, no fair calling it special. If we're willing to schlep that far, we deserve a little grace from the damn meters. What's to stop them from calling everything a special event? "You wanna park near Film Streams? Looks like you're going to a movie. You probably don't get out much, so that's a special event. Want a beer at Lefty's or a slice from Rocco's? Sounds pretty special to us. Pay up".

I know John will put Marcus on the spot about chicken finger basket inflation (and don't let him get away with "hey, that's MECA, not us", because MECA will listen to their most important tenant), but I hope he brings up this meter outrage at the same time. And sure, paying the players, NIL, the portal, even lacrosse. All those things, I suppose. But fingers and meters. That's the hard-hitting stuff I want to hear about.

Oh, and who's his money on for the next Pope? Can't hurt to ask. Maybe he's heard something. He might know a guy.

John -

Great job on the interview of Marcus! It was well done and gave me some good insight on Marcus as a person and AD. It would be great to have a continuation of the discussion in a future interview and also get Coach Huss on for an interview.
