I think that's true for the last two years.

once DRock took WVU - it was more of a stretch - and once Indiana hired him - that option was over.

Porter struggling at OU - and honestly having zero ties to the Mac era made him a bit of a stretch as well.

This should cover us through the 2039-2040 season. But I'm really concerned about the 2040-41 season though. We're lacking in size everywhere (tallest kid is less than three feet tall). I'm anxious about the 3-point shooting production, too. Chat GPT doesn't seem to have any good answers either. Piece of junk!

I am a little surprised how upfront about the coach in waiting language. Usually its obvious but not explicit.

Also did Chatgpt write this paragraph from the release?

"In an era of collegiate athletics uncertainty, McCormick Endowed Athletic Director Marcus Blossom worked with Creighton President the Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ, PhD, as he identified a diverse national pool of outstanding professional and collegiate basketball candidates. Blossom collaboratively integrated the insights of McDermott and successfully hired Huss."

i had to reread that last line twice, lol. pretty bizarrely written.

again, i really think mac wanted huss to be the next coach for awhile now. and there's always been speculation that mac wanted to retire relatively young. this is a solid move to ensure you get your guy and preserve player/program continuity in the process. two years is not a long time to be away unless it was for the express purpose of getting a little hc experience before coming back as part of a larger succession plan.

Does this set Mac up for an administration level role at Creighton once he steps away from Creighton?

Marcus hasn’t been renewed as far as I know?

I have no insight but the rumor has always been that Mac wants to retire to the golf course. I would be surprised if he moved into a different role, especially AD.

Not sure if Blossom has been renewed or not but I sure as hell hope he sticks around. He has been nothing but awesome as the AD.

Great news. Excellent coach and an alum-"a Creighton Guy". Huss not only recruits the EU, but still has connections at the HS/Academy levels as well. Knowledgeable, likeable, insures program continuity, one of our own. I love it. Welcome home Coach Huss. Now, if he only brings in Coach Ben Walker, as one of his assistants upon taking charge of the program? ;)

I would guess that we'll eventually see Antoine Young on the coaching staff with Huss. He was at Kearney, then High Point with Huss.
