It seems like Mr. Graves is only eligible for one more season?

I think we need to get used to the one year player being pretty common. Getting two or three years out of an underclassman should also likely be seen as not the norm.

Sorta hate it but it makes April and May pretty interesting!!

WBR Tom wrote:The raw assist numbers are deceiving because Charlotte was a terrible shooting team -- they shot 31.0% from three (322nd in D1) and 49.6% from two (243rd). I'd look at something like assist rate instead to try and determine what kind of player he is (and I suspect that's what the coaches see, too). Graves had an assist on 19.1% of his team's made baskets this year -- that ranked 470th out of almost 5,000 D1 players. That tells me he's likely good at sharing the ball and creating shots for others, they just weren't great at doing anything with it.

Assuming the staff sees something in him similar to what they saw in Neal -- who averaged 1.8 assists per game as ASU and was over 4apg at Creighton -- where the raw numbers will look a lot different in a better system with better shooters.

This is a great analysis and why I trust the coaches to find guys who fit here even if their present situation hasn’t allowed them to totally show their stuff.

More of a pop replacement? high PPG but not that efficient. Hopefully the Jays are still going after a primarily ball handling PG

We lost our three best scorers. We need some guys that can put up points.

You have to factor free throw volume into his efficiency. He's a free throw merchant.
