Consensus of computer projections and other predictions has Jays finishing season at regular season record of 21-10 and Big East record of 14-6. If so, probably comfortably in the tournament but likely in the dreaded 8/9 seed. If we won two games in BE tourney, then could be a 7 seed. Hopefully it will play out that way.

Obviously the 8/9 isn't ideal, but we would be the quintessential "8 seed currently playing like a 5 or 6" because of our massive improvement throughout the season. We already proved we can beat high seeded teams against Kansas and uconn.

It’s worth noting that we lost by 1 to Iowa State in the “secret scrimmage”, who is likely in 1 seed territory. Duke and Auburn are both very good teams, but having Kalk gives us a cheat code that teams outside for the Big East won’t have seen all season.

Too early to tell anyway, it was just 5 years ago we had a Creighton team in a similar position at this point in the season and the 2020 team would have likely ended up on the 2 seed line.

If we can win the BE regular season title (big if, but we have momentum), then I would think we should be a 3-6 seed.

By the way, one of the talking heads after the DePaul game was suggesting that we had a good shot at the BE regular season title.

Davis said that because we do. In fact right now I’d call us as much a favorite as any team.

Check the schedule: St. John’s, UConn, and Marquette haven’t played one another at all yet. We’ve played all 3. So while we have 3 games against the 4 team BE round robin, they all have 5. Also, we’ve knocked out half of our road games in only 8 dates - and with wins already against UConn and St John’s in the bag.

A far cry from LincolnJay and Realhoops claiming after Georgetown there was a real chance we could end up finishing down around the DePaul/Hall level.

When did Seth Davis join Fox?
“...When people ask me where I went to school at, I probably won’t even say the other school anymore. It’s just gonna be Creighton. This is where I grew, where I learned to be a man and a basketball player. This is where I became Jamiya Neal.”
