Mac is no longer a top 20 or 30 head coach. He has moved up to being a top ten coach in the nation. I wouldn't trade him for anyone. His system fits Creighton perfectly.

I saw husker fans trying to bring light to a fictional “fire Mac” crowd to detract from the win yesterday on Twitter. Their obsession with Creighton is so strange.

Odds on favorite for now

Seems unlikely IMHO

This comment about power five stuck out to me. Rare that the label CU as power 5 job
Despite the extension, McDermott has been discussed as a potential candidate for the IU job, and for good reason. He’s consistently won at a power five job over the last 15 seasons.

There is absolutely no question Indiana and its fan base wants Mac, and would likely offer double his current salary. The question is whether Mac is interested in the job. Definitely one of the top jobs in the nation. Their fan base seems to be interested at this time to go all in, hiring a top coach and getting a lot of NIL money to fund a program back to national prominence year after year. This is surely the last top notch position opportunity for Mac if he is thinking of a new challenge. I don’t think he will leave, but this is such a weird new world of college basketball. If he resists this job, then he will for sure retire at CU. We should always be thankful that he is our coach as it is obvious he is very respected with a lot of fan bases across the country who wish he coached their team.

Indiana is a football school now
At Creighton Bob Gibson majored in sociology and starred in Basketball and Baseball. In 1957 Gibson received a $3,000 sign-on bonus with St. Louis Cardinals, but delayed his HOF Cards career a year to play pro B-ball with the Harlem Globetrotters.

Can anyone name the last Indiana coach that wasn’t fired (or forced to resign)?
"But I truly care about Creighton and the fans and what they've done for me the last three years. I want to give them one more year and take care of business in the Big East so we can prove people wrong.'' ---- Doug McDermott
