Do you mean in Tuscaloosa. Sorry for late reply. Avoid the bars just west of campus on University Blvd, unless you are looking for underage coeds. Downtown has some good places, though some used to have a cover on weekends. Blackwater brewery, avenue Pub, Jack Browns Beer and Burger, Mugshots, Rythm and Brews, to name a few. Heat Pizza Bar, Dreamland BBQ, Cook Out, Nicks in the Sticks are off the path a bit, but were good. Nicks is a hole in the wall steakhouse. Used to be relatively cheap and very good. But small, so plan on a wait. Don’t know if it’s still good.

Got to go to Gallettes before the game. It’s one of those college bars that’s famous enough where it’s acceptable for all ages. Also, it’s winter break.

Gallettes is a nasty, dirty, dive bar. You need to pay $20-30 cover to experience this crap. And unless you are a regular or wearing Bama gear, expect to be waiting a long time for a drink. One of the absolute worst college dive bars I have ever been to, and I love going to college dive bars outside of my city whenever I can.

I picked the final response in the poll: the joke’s on you. I’m a Creighton fan and we’re coming to whip your A again.

Haha

The irritating part of this article is it points out that our worst loss this year is to the Fuskers!

Considering that Alabama's the fourth least educated state in the country, it's nice to see they have at least one halfway-decent writer down there. The article's riddled with errors (our worst loss was "at" nebraska, he makes Ash sound like a monster around the basket, and in talking in depth about last year's game, the guy doesn't even give lip service to Trey, even though he was our leading scorer that night), but it's still a fun read.

Another head-scratcher: He says we're not "getting to the line nearly as well as last season", which is flat-out wrong. Our FT% is a tick better than last season, and it was pretty damn good a year ago (79.2% vs 78.8%). On top of that, we're getting there more often. 18 charity chances per game this time around vs 15 tries pg last year. And, are Mac's substitutions really driven by "AI machine learning"? Maybe, I guess, but when Fred comes out after two or three trips, is it because AI said "that's enough Fred", or is it because Fred just picked up two fouls?

But he’s right about the fouling in last year's game. Bama got called for 25; no Jays opponent even came close to that number all season and, except for the 2OT game against Oregon, we shot a season-high in free throws (29). We had a Big East crew for that game. If that means we see SEC guys this year, well, yikes. Bama doesn't need another advantage.

Many may not be aware unless knowing someone who went/goes to Bama, more than half their students are suburban kids from the Midwest and really throughout the US because of their scholarship for out of state kids — essentially a full tuition Regents scholarship for non residents with a 32 or better ACT and 3.5 or better GPA. 25% of their freshman class has a 31 or better ACT. Pretty much the same as Creighton. Their mean ACT score is a fair amount lower than Creighton, however. Tuscaloosa isn’t much, but the campus is very nice.

This SEC crack in-studio analyst said we’re without our best player. Should be a fun little broadcast.

Why does Ash do that, trying to reverse the ball by dribbling through the lane while dancing along the baseline? That seems like asking for trouble.

Hey, love the road blues though, so there’s that.

Traudt on Sears probably isn't ideal.
