Not sure I understand this line of thinking. The best 5 should start, with or without Ashworth (or Zugic, Pops, Neal, etc.). Creighton has thrown out some excellent starting 5s, but the bench units have not been up to standard in recent years. Being able to bring guys like Ashworth off the bench to be an elite 6th man is the next step this program needs to take imo.

Where have you been the past 15 years?

There is zero chance Ashworth isn't starting day 1

If you don’t understand the comment / thought, you didn’t understand Mac and how he has always operated. There is, indeed, zero chance of Ashworth not starting day 1.

What's the scoop on this? If he's signing, it would great to get him onto campus to integrate with the team.

I did see a tweet where some basketball wonk had Fedor as his number 92 player in the NBA draft before the deadline to withdraw. If this is close to an accurate assessment, this suggests to me that this guy has the potential to start this year if we close the deal.

Starting is one thing.

Starting over Ash is another entirely.

The process with euros is just so different

The UW just added a 19 year old French professional named Diomande.

Not sure how the NCAA approves these guys as amateurs (while seemingly playing professional ball) but it seems to be happening.

I mean the whole farce of amateurism kinda went out the window when guys are commanding 1-2 mil on the transfer market. Eligibility should be considered still though and then probably no returning once you’ve gone to college then played professionally (nba or overseas).

Seriously? Amateurs in NCAA athletics? Laughable.
