Well, if he wants to go to a place where they simply chuck up a lot of threes with no game plan and no chance of every being at the top of the conference and on the bubble or not in the tourney, then Bama is the choice for him. If he wants the hick life in Tuscaloosa rather than a vibrant hip city like Omaha, then Bama it is. Does not seem like it would be a smart choice to me.

They spent some money and brought in the former Buffalo coach and I think they've spent a lot on facilities lately, but at the moment, they are kind of a random-3-pt shooting team without much of a plan and with inconsistent D. When they hit shots, they can win sometimes, but otherwise they struggle against quality teams.

Looks like he officially reclassified to 2020, so I suspect we still want him, but only if Walton doesn't commit to us first. Would be nice to land one

Oats has them on the bubble, which I think is fine for a 1st year HC at Bama. I know Primo spoke really highly of Bama after his visit so clearly he can at least picture himself there, and as a 2020 guy, there will be way more minutes there.

Some people like to join startups, others fortune 500s. To each their own. This does however put more pressure to hit on Walton, or the rest of the 2021 guys when looking to reload for 2021-22.

Article on his official reclassifying.

I'm not sure why so many here are surprised he'd consider Bama. Sure, they're not a blueblood but they've been recruiting well as of late and Oats is going to be a good one there.

Sadly, he probably wouldn't get the minutes here as a True frosh that we wants, unless someone like TSA left early. If he's fine with coming off the bench and then being a guy his 2nd year, we have a great chance.

Need to land one of Primo/Walton.

I'm not surprised he'd consider Bama. Oats should be a pretty good one there (although SEC has been a disaster for a lot of good coaches), but it's also not like he hasn't had talent there. They have 6 top 100 guys on the roster (3 that Oats looks like he brought in last year), so that's not a team devoid of talent. As you say, minutes will be tough here.

One option that might be there is a traditional sit-one-year transfer for this class. We're going to have a senior-heavy team next year almost no matter what, and we have A. Jones who will be eligible to play next year as well. If they are a talent of the level of Jones, it might allow them to get comfortable in the system while not burning a year of eligibility. And it gives us a bit more age/experience on the roster for that following year.

Walton is probably not going to decide until after the season and Primo expects to make a decision in the next month or so.

Alabama has 3 guards that will be back next year. They all average 14.3ppg or more. I don't think it's likely that he is playing heavy minutes at either school next year. It's probably a little bit more likely that he is playing heavy minutes here in 2021 as 2 of the top 3 guards will be back at Bama in 2021.

Don't disagree about Oats. They are fun to watch. Not sure you can win big playing that style but it's entertaining as hell.

Plus add in Jahvon Quinerly who will be eligible next year and James Rojas who tore his ACL.

I don't think they need to land one of them. It's be awesome if they could, but both seem like tough pulls right now.

Barring early departure, we get two years of Antwann and two years of Marcus after this. We'll see what happens with Windham and how Shereef develops. Assuming Mintz leaves and they have two more spots and that they don't get Primo or Walton, I think what they'd like to do is get one of the foreign bigs and then land a sit-out transfer on the wing to help ease the loss of the current junior class. Then in 2021 they definitely have to land a big fish or two plus perhaps a grad transfer.

In short, I think they'll be OK if they miss out on both those guys but it puts more pressure on them in 2021 to land a great class.

RE Alabama, I'd be surprised if Kira Lewis Jr. didn't declare for and stay in the draft.

Antwann actually has three years of eligibility remaining with his sit out year this year.
I don’t vet ‘em, I just post ‘em.

Good call. Every other sit-out transfer recently has come in with two years of eligibility so I guess I've just got that in my head.

Josh has re-classified to 2020 and has moved up the charts on 247sports to the #27 player overall after his performance this past week. He is now listed as a 5 star recruit but the biggest and best news is 247sports now has Creighton listed as warm, moving up from cool. Alabama and Creighton are his only warm teams as of today.
