It looks like Donovan followed Coach Rencher recently. I can’t think of any reason why he would unless we are at least talking to him.

He sure looks bad on this video, airballs, clankers, probably more missed shots than makes. Why make a video to include all you bad play. Based on this video, I would say no thanks.

It was really odd to just see a bunch of plays bad and good on that kind of video -- just need to use the same filter but opposite with the highlight films kids have. Lots of lousy play in real time when unedited, but he's very long, runs the floor well, can handle and can shoot. I can see why we want to take a look at him.

I like that we're taking a look at him and Batcho. Tons of skilled big men from overseas -- I think Gonzaga has 6 foreign players on the roster, with 4 of them 6-10 or taller

He did get invited to the NBPA Top 100 camp in June so there must be something there. I don't mind taking a flyer on a guy who has some height and skill. We just need an insurance policy on the front line next year.

+1 Jet,

Here's another scouting report from over a year ago. There are a few other clips of him playing from 2017 where he looks very good with a smooth shot and ability to really run the floor.

Modestas Kancleris, JSI Elite, 2020 (pictured above): There wasn’t a bigger storyline for me on Friday night than the 6-foot-8 Lithuanian import. He’s been in the United States for 15 days and he’s been on a tear ever since with JSI Elite. On the opening night of Bob Gibbons, he played the role of Mr. Versatility. Kancleris scored with jumpers, post ups, transition, offensive putbacks and from three. He is a skilled passer and shined as a shot-blocker. Overall, he showed flashes of so many good things. He’s been to the United States before and has a good reputations in Europe. According to Jason Smith of JSI, he’s already been offered by Indiana and Auburn. Kancleris is a no-brainer high-major player and potentially a top 50 level national prospect in the 2020 class.

Primo is ‘21 in which there are LOTS of openings. This kid is ‘20.
I don’t vet ‘em, I just post ‘em.

You can’t spell “Modestas” without “modest.” I guess he just wants to show you the good, bad and the ugly.

Video not great, but I remember thinking similar things about Krampelj when he signed out of nowhere. I’ll trust the coaches at this point.
