What a pleasant surprise it would be if out of the blue, a recruit would sign a N.L.I today, as this is the last day a recruit can sign until April 15, 2020.

Depending on what happens with Kerwin we could make a push for, Josh Primo, a top 50 SG from Canada. He listed us as one of the top schools pursuing him and could reclassify to 2020 in the spring.

2 names at the bottom of the 2020-21 recruiting list, 2 forwards. Listed as transfers:

Brock Cunningham (F)
Taeshon Cherry (F)

Not listed on either 247 or ESPN transfer list. Any info pertaining to these guys?
Is this Coach Rencher influence?

Cunningham same HS (Westlake) as KJ Adams. Cherry from San Diego.

Cunningham is from Austin originally, same HS as Adams (as you note). Cherry from Rencher's old coaching territory, so would have to think they are his work.

Cunningham's not getting many minutes and already Redshirted a year, so he'd have to make the case that he got pushed, OR would have to sit out a full year. Might not be that bad as he could play second half of next year, if he was a mid year transfer.

Cherry has something going on, definitely -- he switched commitment from USC to AZ State, and missed a game due to rules violations recently as well. His past is a bit tattered, think he got dumped from his HS team and was a 5 star by some ratings. He didn't RS, but would have to sit out as well.

Both can shoot the 3 and are in the 6-7, 6-8 range and can run as stretch 4's in our system pretty easily. If we could land one and have them as a mid-year transfer... that would be pretty sweet for the roster next year

I might be missing something but Cherry played in ASU's last game. I don't see anything that says he's transferring....

I don't think you're missing anything. Wherever GtMo got those names, it looks like they were speculative as I don't see either one as a transfer officially. That said, both were top 100 type players who aren't getting a ton of minutes, and both are stretch 4's that might look good in our system, and both might have ties to Rencher. Cunningham in particular is barely playing any minutes

As I stated, both are on the WBR recruiting list/scholie Matrix as transfers (orange color code) for 2020-21.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... utput=html

I would imagine they were placed on the list for a reason? That is why I was asking in the 1st place. Perhaps the WBR staff or
whomever placed them on the list can give an explanation. I didn't see either on ESPN or 247's transfer list.

Thanks - I just wasn't sure where the names showed up.

Looks speculative, but that said, if there are 2 people who are likely to be transfers, it might be them - highly rated, look to be not getting many minutes, and guys who may be a good fit for what we need as well.

I know this will drive everyone crazy (it does me), but Mac would be wise to recruit a point guard in this class.

Imagine this team next year if Marcus continues his high level of play and we are left with one point guard on the team and nobody that is even as good as Mintz to back up Mitchell.

Marcus stays, we're loaded at point guard,Marcus leaves, Mitchell is it.

High stakes playing in the big east from the Mo Valley.
