Someone should tell Tristan the Sam Cunliffe/Kansas story.

Top 50 national player out of HS. Washington state POY in 2016. 6’6” very athletic wing. Barely played at Kansas. Transferred out.

If I was a top recruit and somebody told me that story, my immediate reaction would be to want to prove people wrong and go to Kansas and earn PT. Elite athletes are elite, in part, because they believe they are the best. Tristan hears that story and is probably thinking “so?”.

You are probably right Duke1agn.

Usually better to stay positive about the opportunities here than negatives elsewhere.

That would be true if they'd had offered him earlier, but from their own actions it's clear he's the backup plan. If a guy feels like he's going to be given equal chances, then great, but I don't think they intend to give him equal chances to start and the court time he needs to develop to his full potential

Arrived in Lawrence last night.

Has he set a specific decision date? Or just after all these visits in general

It really comes down to what he’s looking for - he obviously would have a much bigger role here, or he can play for consistent conference and occasional national titles at KU. It depends on what is important to him.

I mean, if you're a KU fan they would say they don't play for national titles enough  ;) Since they won the title on 08, they've been to one final four. I know we haven't even made the sweet 16 in the modern era, but we could have pitched to Tristan that with him in the fold, we could have as much tourney success as KU has had with this roster moving forward.

I really do think he's a missing piece.

That roster in two years has potential to be nasty.

Worth noting 6'6 5 star wing Johnny Juzang reclassified into 2019. Has KU in his final 4
