That is all.

ESPN old 'commit' story by Givony: https://www.espn.com/recruiting/basketb ... louisville

"King is young for his class, the same age as or younger than many high school juniors in the U.S. At one point he was deemed a candidate to take a gap year and enter college in 2023, but his strong play and aggressive pursuit by college suitors caused him to revisit those plans. He will enroll at Louisville as a 17-year-old and likely possesses considerable upside to tap into with his extreme lack of experience against high-level competition, putting him on a different trajectory than most big men in this class.

His commitment is a coup for a Louisville team that is awaiting word from the NCAA on potential punishments stemming from allegations made in the FBI's investigation into the sport of college basketball."

Creighton is unretiring Bob Portman's jersey number so King can wear it.

Love this. But the article led to one question. How is Doug McDermott’s number not retired yet?

...Or Buford's?
Isn't there a time requirement? A minimum # of years needs to pass first?

Also, save the 'must have graduated' spiel. Several CU HoFers Hoops/Baseball/others only had 2-3 years
on the Hilltop- no degree. Rodney was a pivotal player during the DA regime and deserves the honor.

I recall someone saying that they are waiting until Doug's schedule cync's with an opportunity for a ceremony in Omaha. Not sure if that is true or not, but makes sense.

Just purely speculation, but glad they didn't retire Doug's in the past few seasons with the covid restrictions.

Yes Buford's number should be retired. He was a human highlight film and I believe he averaged around 18 points a game in a four year career. We can also argue Buford's significance in Altman restoring CU basketball to relevance. Without Buford, would CU have become relevant?

Did Rodzilla graduate? I believe that's holding back both him and Gallagher from being considered.

Buford memories. Even though we lost the round of 32 game to Maryland in 1999, the Buford dunk at the end of game was unreal one of my favorite all time CU moments.
