not sure it's a matter of relaxing. it's college basketball. actually, it's not even college basketball, it's college basketball recruiting. pretty minor stuff. and, if McQuaid's not a Bluejay, others will be (any maybe Zierden can come back strong, get some consistency on his shot, show serious improvement, and kind of be our Phil Forte), and our team will either continue to flourish under Mac, or eventually someone else will get a try at guiding the team. all in all, it's a minor part of everyone's lives bar the staff and players.

but, within this little niche world of Creighton basketball recruiting, McQuaid has been priority #1 for this staff since he opted out of his verbal SMU commit. Clarke's a huge deal, too, and I would be thrilled if he chose CU, but his recruitment has always been perceived as more of an uphill battle. anyway, it's obvious that the staff has gone all in attempting to sell CU to McQuaid and his family (check out some of the staff follows on twitter if you have any doubt). if it may be a foregone conclusion that he's going to pick MSU, it would be worth knowing now rather than holding on to the blind optimism that is so unwarranted in many of these cases.
.

Our little niche of recruiting is so much fun...is their a "e" ?. Almost as fun as Watching Pat n Vanna (what color dress will she wear today?). Our boards are tiny in comparison to the average state school boards and much more civil in discourse. Recruiting helps to pass the hot summers and give old couts like me an extra activity while waiting for the season. While recruiting pales in comparison to "real-life" issues, I really enjoy tracking the recruiting wars and watching these little vignettes unfold.

Fun is where you find it. ;)

That's what I've been thinking. It seems like Creighton has done everything possible to win him over. But if McQuaid is wowed by Izzo and Sparty, there's not much the Jays can do about that. If he doesn't commit on the visit, that means he's still giving it some thought, in which case I think CU has a great shot.

It appears that Matt did not commit to MSU during his visit this weekend. I'm really liking our chances now. Hopefully Mac will go down to Texas this week and get a verbal.

The fact that he didn't commit is a really good sign. Probably about the best we could have hoped for after the weekend, save him committing to Creighton during the MSU visit.

Fingers are crossed, hoping we get great news shortly.

MSU rivals page just released a story interviewing his dad. He's supposed to be announcing between MSU and Creighton probably via Twitter in the next few days.
