“@TjRushing: North Scott and Team Rose guard Marlon Stewart (IA) tells me he'll use his 3rd official to visit Creighton (@gocreighton) Friday #iahsbkb”

Will look for more info on this kid.

6'3 point guard from Davenport with all mid-major offers. Looks athletic on YouTube.

Not that it really matters, but MaxPreps and PrephoopsIowa list him at 6-1, not 6-3 as VerbalCommits does.
Late bloomer, perhaps?

Here's a bit of info. Sounds like a heady, smart player and maybe a good fit for an offense that needs a top notch distributor.

"However, the prospect who raised his stock the most in this game and throughout the remainder of the evening was 6’2 point guard Marlon Stewart. A rising senior at North Scott High School in Iowa, Marlon wasn’t much of a known commodity coming into the event, as the field mostly consisted of players from the Chicagoland area. By the end of the day, Marlon had the gym buzzing, as he dazzled with sharp passing, tight ball-handling, and next-level court savvy. Marlon, who competes on the AAU circuit with Team Rose, has offers from Wisconsin Green Bay, Northern Illinois and Chicago State, and interest from Bradley, IUPUI, Drake, Northern Colorado, Eastern Illinois, Western Illinois and South Dakota State. You can expect that list to more than double by the time the July evaluation period comes to a close."

I think we sit well with a few of those others yet. This is likely an insurance play on a guy who appears to have shown big improvement recently.

I wouldn't read that much into it. Sounds like a late bloomer who has come on late and who our staff felt had to contact/offer(?) like Patton, perhaps. Our staff obviously believes that he could play in the Big East (indicated by the official). We have a quota on officials, might as well use them.

I know you can't read much into highlight videos, but he looks to have a college ready frame already. And he appears to have a nice jump shot. Also, he looks like Fred Van Vleet. Hopefully his game is similar.

I'm assuming there is no rule on taking an official but not getting an offer?
