I also wonder if maybe the staff got frustrated when he did not commit at the beginning of the summer. Many thought he was on the verge of committing, but instead he went back home and announced he was transferring fo a prep school out east. Maybe his wishy-washy ways just turned them off.

Did the Jays get a commit today. Just saw on twitter something about Kerwin Roach?

No. It was a Scouts article that talks about Patton and there is another story about the recruitment of Roach.

247 Sports has moved the Jays 2015 Class into their Top 50 (at #47). It's simply amazing what July exposure can accomplish.

per Evan Daniels: Most underrated players... http://scouthoops.scout.com/story/14281 ... layer?s=75

MY TAKE

My vote for this category doesn’t vary too much from the college coaches. I personally think Donovan Mitchell, who isn't currently in our rankings, is easily the most underrated recruit in the country. He proved himself as a top 30 type talent with his play in July. He’s a tremendous athlete, a very good passer and an improved shooter and scorer. After Mitchell, three players – Justin Patton (Creighton), Matt Heldt (Marquette) and Kerwin Roach – immediately come to mind. All three were unranked heading into July and all three will be top 100 recruits and four-star prospects when the rankings are updated.

Kind of doubt it, unless he wants to walk on for a year. With his off the court issues, seems tailor made for Hoiberg (and I don't mean that in some sort of anti-Hoiberg kind of way). Good shooter, though.

Unfortunately it also opens up a scholarship for MSU, a school that McQuaid seems to have serious interest in. Since the Spartans already have a 2015 SG commit and appear to be going hard after Brunson and Swanigan, not really sure about the fit or available room for McQuaid there, especially since I'm under the impression that the SG transfer from Va Tech had something to do with his SMU decommit. But MSU's a great program, so I certainly understand his general interest in the school.
