Great summary for us to follow.

While I know there will be disappointments along the way, we aren't shying away from competition for the top level kids. I can't wait to see what shiny new toys we acquire over the next year.

Go Jays!

Nice breakdown, I would take it a little further to illustrate the versatility that this staff has worked so hard to recruit:

PG - Watson (JR) / Zierden (SR) / High School Recruit
SG - Milliken (SR) / Zierden (SR) / Harrell (SO) / High School (or JUCO here) Recruit (Big Guard)
SF - Harrell (SO) / Huff (JR) / Gilmore (SO)
PF - Gilmore (SO) / Hegner (SO) / High School Recruit
C - Hanson (JR) / Groselle (SR) / Hegner (SO) / High School Recruit

The wing position will be in great shape once Harrell and Gilmore get their feet wet and gain some experience and strength as Freshman. While both are talented, we should temper our expectations of their output as true freshman in the big east as they'll have some ups and downs.

The key to our 2015 recruiting is recruiting a difference maker point guard to learn the ropes behind Watson and big time athletic shooting guard to compliment the shooting ability at the small forward spot.

The next few years are going to be fun watching this young core develop. Also when you look at the other pieces, it becomes apparent how important bringing in a seasoned point guard and seasoned, versatile forward was to fill out the 2014 class. Great job by the staff to round out the classes on the roster with Watson and Huff.

Go Jays!

Hope that over the next few months we all heed your words of advice, jayball. There were plenty of us Creighton recruiting followers who watched a roster worth of 2014 targets and a couple of 2015 targets commit elsewhere last Spring, Summer and early Fall. But, the eventual 2014 class of Harrell (top 100 ESPN, Rivals, and Scout, I believe), Gilmore (consensus top 150), Watson (13.3 ppg and 7.1 apg as a Sophomore for a solid Boston University team), and Huff (12.4 ppg and 5.4 rpg as a Sophomore in the MWC) is as great of a class as anyone on here besides gtmo could have imagined, even if the latter two players have to redshirt next season.

So far, I think Noskowiak, McQuaid, and Toye are the only realistic 2015 Creighton targets who have committed elsewhere in 2014, and two of them chose their home school, while Vandy seemed to want Toye more badly than any other school (and maybe Hufnagel’s decision to move west will reopen the Toye recruitment).

McQuaid’s SMU pledge hurts, but so long as Larry Brown’s leading the Mustangs, I truly think they’re one of top 10 or so recruiting programs in the nation. Iconic head coach. Great assistants. Nearly unbeatable location. Good facilities. Okay conference. Solid, albeit sort of snobbish (reputation-wise, anyway) school.

We’ll almost certainly get ours. Who’s next? Fly Jays!

I'm grinning BB.

WHO'd a thought (ever) that "realistic" recruits for the Jays would be ranked... 61, 75,& 88 on the Rivals list and similarly on Scout's board as well. What a marvelous improvement. Geez, I hate that term (realistic)...we will do better'n that. ;)

I know we are in on A LOT of very good players for 2015, and we have 4 spots to fill, so who do you guys think our 4 top targets should be? It's really tough to narrow down but if I had to I'd probably say Alex Illikainen, Henry Ellenson, Kain Harris, and Glynn Watson. I think those 4 are very gettable. Also, I'd LOVE to get Josh Sharma and Chimezie Metu, but I think those 2 are going to explode soon. Hopefully we can land some of these kids!

Ellenson might be a reach but I think the other 3 are contenders.
