I don't see Ty Davis redshirting. Whose to say someone else doesn't come in next year? He'd move on before redshirting. If he isn't looking at significant minutes at CU, he can bet on himself - hit the second portal period, start at an upper mid-major or lower major, knock it out of the ball park and then demand large NIL next year. That isn't happening if he redshirts.

It’s not an awful idea for him. Preserve a year of eligibility while still getting paid six figures and adding a year on to your contract in what is quickly becoming the 2nd highest paying basketball league in the world.

It's the coaches' job to recruit over people. Ty might not be the guy. Then again, he might. Ryan Nembhard was a six time Freshman of the Week. If Ty walks it's not like we're losing a Nembhard. Brutal as it sounds, you gotta be as cutthroat as the other coaches in the league if you want to compete. St. John's isn't worried about players getting their feelers hurt, obviously.....

Is this like a small ball 5 option?

We’ve all become accustomed to a short bench under Mac. Watching other teams though, they regularly have much more depth. Dana usually did it too. I don’t see why we can’t do the same.

(Wasn’t directed at you TBJ as I’ve heard similar comments from others the last several days).

I really like this get. The one concern I had was a lack of athleticism and potential defensive issues. This signing seems to counter some of those concerns.

Pretty crowded at 2 and 3 spots now with Fedor, Swartz, Dix, Green and Greer. Someone isn’t going to be happy about PT but you can’t handicap your program by limiting your depth to keep everyone happy.

Now go get a small ball 5 option lol.

Remember Jasen can play the 4. I wonder if Traudt is going to be the odd man out.

Read today that there are over 2,000 portal entrants and only about 400 have committed. The portal closes in 8 days.

There will be many kids without a home, without a degree and with limited prospects.

An ugly side of the portal.
