The OWH said “the two sides couldn’t agree on the terms” of Isaacs playing on the team. It sure sounds like it’s about the money.

On 1620 they said "no hard feelings" between CU or Pop, but basically Pop saw his demand for playing time going up with Ashworth graduating, wanted more $ as a result, CU reluctant to match Pop's ask especially in light of small 9 game sample size plus the history of injuries (durability).

It really has become a business now in so many instances.

Ok, when I saw your post, I thought it would be a good idea to repeat this from another thread.

Because of NIL money now... it's become the norm that coaches at higher levels are not looking at HS players unless they are "special". It's all about moving up the ladder. Junior with 2 years left, or even a Senior with 1 year left if he fits "the need" (see Neal) MM to P6 etc. Coaches can't wait to develop players anymore. They'll let them go through the "minor league" system. That way, as a coach, you know what you are getting, for the most part (see LJ).

Roster management is the key to success these days. Developing players will become a lost art, College Basketball (and to some degree football)... teams that utilize NIL money) is starting to take on the look of a "Professional/NBA" model more and more each day.

Addendum: It also means that your "system/style of play" will more than likely need to be dumbed down to some degree. Play will look more individualistic as time goes on. Either that, or you will really have to be good at putting the puzzle pieces together when you look at who you are brining in. Not that you didn't have to do some of that before. But since you won't have them for more than a couple of years... MAYBE 3 (almost guaranteed now that that will happen... like "2 and done")., you'll need players who really really do fit and fit like "right now" fit. But again, they'll be somewhat seasoned, So you'll have a better chance of knowing what you are getting.

1. Graves - Davis - Thomas
2. Zugic
3. Green - Greer
4. McAndrew - Traudt - Thomas
5. Freeman.

It’s a good start but I’d argue we are missing our most important piece still (someone who can distribute and create their own shot)

Pop is visiting Chris Beard and Ole Miss today. He almost went there last spring before picking CU, so not a big surprise.

Since it’s a visit I will also post this here. Funny how there was no leak of this now that Miller is off the staff, hmmm. 8-)

I don’t vet ‘em, I just post ‘em.

Now that we have signed a PG, we have a very good roster with no gaping holes and decent upside potential.

So, what do we need from the portal or elsewhere? And, is there an expectation that we have the resources to continue to be aggressive?

IMHO, we might be seeking:
1. Back up center (Aleksa?)
2. Opportunistically seeking talent (e.g., can you ever have enough athletic and/or skilled guards/wings)

More 2 guard/wing depth and some athleticism, Dix would be a great addition, but another guy who can get to the rim would be ideal.
Another traditional pass first point guard and then a backup 5. Unless we can move Traudt to 5 and then Green can go back to being a primary 4.

Would imagine they're still pursuing a high-caliber perimeter playmaker. Need a back-up big as well. Believe they have the resources to fill those spots with players they can be satisfied with.

Beyond that, will come down to roster management and how they choose to operate with the new 15-man roster. They have two scout team players currently in Thomas and Townley-Thomas and eight guys who all expect to be in the rotation to varying degrees.
