More astounding, outscored in points off turnovers 20-2. Yes, by 18 points.
St. John’s scored 76 points. Over half of those were second chance or points off turnovers. IMO, we cant blame missed foul calls on shooting when we gave up 40 points in 2nd chance points and points off turnovers. Cut those in half and we win going away. This team can only make a splash in March if the guys decide to value the ball (“Simple plays, fellas”, to quote a former coach), and dedicate themselves to getting every defensive rebound.
You did not watch the game. Here is another stat. We played 5 on 8 again. This game was fixed. The Big East wants ratings.
No, but I have watched almost every other game this year. The majority of our turnovers do not result from fouls that should have been called, and we allow way too many offensive rebounds that do not result from uncalled fouls. The only complaints of uncalled fouls I see from yesterday's game related to shooting, not causing TOs or offensive rebounds. I accept what you say about officiating, but I doubt it had much to do with getting outscored 20-2 off of turnovers. Unforced turnovers and inability to consistently block on the defensive end are this team's achilles heel. I am not arguing against the assertion that we likeley win had they called those fouls that should have been called. What I am saying is that even if the game was poorly officiated (which I am not arguing against) there were things the team could have controlled yesterday that would likely have resulted in a win notwithstanding officiating. That's all.

Agreed. Refs did not cause our 15 turnovers, or shooting 27% from 3. We have been consistently plagued by turnovers and when we lose games, that is usually one of the biggest causes.

This was a game of how not to officiate and those non-calls and calls led to direct impacts on the scoring end, especially for a more finesse team like Creighton. And yes, of course rebound better and, of course, hit the open shots. Many things can be true and when there is a contribution of ineptitude by the officials, it is very, very difficult to dig out of that deeper hole.
