Pop may score as much as Trey, but he can't replace Trey's defense or finishing ability. Neal is a nice role player, but who really expected him to replace Baylor's scoring and rebounding? We downgraded at both positions, and it is not even close to a fair trade. Fans thought Kalk could single handedly lead us to wins. Against good teams, he can't. And, he barely did vs. TRGV. We clearly missed on a few transfers. I am not sure how serious Fidler was on going here. But, he is starting at Michigan State and averaging 12 points in 20 minutes of play. At this point, we clearly should have gone after Tonje a lot harder (not sure if we tried or not). Tonje averages 21 PPG at Wisconsin. Big miss! And who thought having four players who play the 4 is a good idea? I guess you take who you can get.

We don’t have the money to get star players in the transfer portal.

We absolutely have a competitive NIL

Us beating Purdue in the charity game and only losing by 1 to Iowa state (Minus Green) will do that.

I’m thinking the rankings over ranked Alabama, Purdue, Iowa state and us because of the season last year.

Do the quality of our transfers scream "good NIL?" We got outbid for many transfers (including Chaz Lanier, who I really wanted).

Add Parrish, Peavey, and Gayle. All of whom are starting and playing big roles At their respective schools.

Yep, good point. Trey and Baylor are both in the NBA. In fact, Trey played non-garbage time minutes against the Lakers last night in the first quarter. Undrafted rookies rarely get PT. Pop at least up to this point is no where near the defensive player that Trey was. Also, Trey was just super smooth made great decisions. Any who, there both gone now, hopefully Pop and Neal will grow into their roles. It will be an interesting year.

“We have competitive NIL”

Well… if that’s true, then this roster is even more maddening. I don’t think we have *bad* NIL, but I don’t think it’s great. It could be worse, but it could be a lot better.

Either we swung and missed on all these dudes because of money, or because of other non related money issues. Not sure which is worse

I’m guessing we spent it all on Kalk and Ash

Lots of comments on shooting: lack of shots for Kalk, bad 3 point shooting, only 10 two point shots, etc

Mac mentioned in the presser that the 17 turnovers were huge and I’d strongly agree. 17 shots we never took.

Points off turnovers 22-7 against us. Yikes!

Trey made his first NBA 3-pointer last night! Pretty cool. He and Lebron now have a combined 2,449 3 pointers in their careers.

And most of them were lazy / dumb passes.
