Secured tickets and flights to see the first two games. See you there.

I'd love to go but will be returning from a weeklong trip to Mexico on that Monday. Too grueling a turnaround.

The new format is the dumbest ever. Let's say Oregon and Creighton both win their first 2 games. That would mean one of those teams would be playing for 3rd place. The same thing could happen with the other side of the bracket.

You must not follow youth sports. Pretty typical format.

LOL...they have to get it done with only 3 games each so it works.

That's why they have tiebreakers.

Now you may think the tiebreaker is dumb but the format is fine.

Wrong, I've attended up to 2,000 youth sporting events and coached select youth sports for almost 20 years.
I've never heard of a team going undefeated and not winning the tournament.

Then get your head out of the sand. When everybody doesn’t play everybody else in a pool, more than one team can go unbeaten, but they can’t all get the same seed when they advance.

This event can only offer three games to each team and they’re not using a classic win and advance format. Maybe they should, but they’re not, and it’s their event. Tiebreakers are the only way of sorting everything out.

You’ve coached? At a select level?? Yikes.

The tiebreaker goes by points? What a great reason to blow out SDSU and run up the score as much as possible

I have attended 2,001 youth sporting events and coached select youth sports for 21 years. This type of tournament format is common and works well in my opinion.

I hate that scoring margin is a factor here.

That incentivizes keeping experienced players on the floor and foot on the gas.

These early games are when we need to be figuring out rotations and what the younger and bench guys can contribute.

But the format is set. So be it.
