The NCAA needs to go away already. It’s done nothing but steal NIL money from players for the last 50+ years.

Anyone see this? [url]https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/nil-driven-players-era-festival-sets-schedule-tv-partners-alabama-vs-houston-is-marquee-game-in-las-vegas//url] It shows the last day of games on Saturday the 30th. This can not be real why not finish the thing on Friday. Says Jays play Oregon on Sat. Nov. 30th at 9:30 PM.

Maybe Friday is the day the players have to do all of their NIL-related "work"?

Anyway, what's the big deal? An extra day of rest for the players and an extra day for fans to deplete their retirement nest eggs in the casinos.

I believe that extra day break is to accommodate the broadcast partner.

Anyone know if Southpoint Casino will comp rooms for Creighton alumni like they have in the past?

Got an email from Men's Basketball early this AM that the 3 games in Vegas have been cancelled off the calendar.

So CU blackballs themselves from future events by dumping the Bahamas gig and ends up with a short schedule and no holiday tournament. Niiiiiiiice.

The NCAA seemed concerned about this festival.
https://www.si.com/college/gonzaga/bask ... j5vpz3r9exWill be interesting to see if the festival falls apart. I’d be surprised if we were the only ones pulling out. If it does fold, would we reschedule against some of the same teams?

This tournament is looking more and more like the college hoops version of the Fyre Festival, and we bought VIP tickets.
We had a very nice bird in the hand, but we let it fly away because we heard another bird chirping in a bush.

Still, there are quality schools, venues and TV times/platforms already set aside. There are schools/boosters/fans with hotel rooms that Vegas wants to keep.
If there are enough sponsors and someone capable to run an event, you could still make the games happen. Heck you could just go there and play games and the networks would give their own sponsors discounted rates. The players would look at this as we had their best interest at heart. I feel we will still look good in our players (and potential recruits) eyes. We tried to be out front in the new NIL era.
