"Scheierman said he’s heard from a few schools that want him to handle the ball less. They aren’t the ones that will make his final list.

“I feel like my passing ability and my ability to read the defense is what makes me unique,” Scheierman said. I wouldn't want to sacrifice those parts of my game. Ultimately, I'd like a similar role to what I had (at South Dakota State), just at a higher level.”

He wants to be a PG. And at the next level he might be that. But I don't see how he can play PG for us based on what we already have there. Like Helmzy said... looks like the NBA or Nebraska to me.

Yeah he ain't playing PG here, we got plenty of those lol. Mac is excellent with multi-ball handler lineups though. Maybe he can sell him on that. I agree that this feels to be trending toward Nebraska in general. They check all the boxes except contender but kids seems to consistently talk themselves into Nebraska being a good program for some reason like Tobias talking about marriage counseling in Arrested Development

All of our guys need to be able to pass - heck - Hawk was easily the MOST effective at post entry passes last season.

So - it's a matter of where the line is being drawn - is he wanting the ball in his hands the majority of the time - or does he understand how our offense and ball movement works and that he would be an EXCELLENT fit and piece for that?

We'd have a much stronger case for him to split ball-handling duties if we didn't already have two very strong ones in the starting lineup.

Pretty sure it’s against NIL policy to set up a deal to keep a player at a school. I’m sure they found a way around it, but that’s a very fine line they’re walking

We would have to lose someone else to sign King and Scheierman. I'm guessing we get King and the roster is set after that.

If a transfer is using a COVID free year does that player count against the scholarship number for the new team?

Yes. The free scholarships for returning seniors was just for this past year, and those that chose to transfer to a different program for that extra year counted anyway.
