Until we get a transfer or recruit with an F in his name, I’m assuming our entire roster is relocating to Wichita State, Nebraska and UConn. If you expect the worst, you’re never disappointed.

Looking forward to the news!

Ok, let me be specific - he did not have good games against athletic teams with good defense. Against Arizona - 0 points. Iowa st. - 0 points. Baylor -0 points one game, 3 points another game. Texas - 0 points one game, 2 points another game. Several other games with 0 points. I think this is definitely a reach and we should hold out for someone better. Coaches not making a good decision here if they end up signing him. He seems like a good guy, but don’t see the added value to what we have now.

Yeah, I’m going to trust the coaches over someone on the Internet, sorry.
And any additional, reliable shooting is added value to the core we have. And by the way, those lines are a) from last year when he played the least he ever had, b) what you expect for shooting specialists against good teams - good teams are well-coached, well-coached teams generally play good scouting report defense, and c) on a team that probably isn’t as good as getting shooters open looks as we do.

I see what Alphawalt is saying - coaches aren't always right, and Farabello takes some projection to see how he might fit in, but looking at the data and watching some of his play, I'm thinking it's possible this could be a great fit. One thing to remember was that Farabello was a PG in HS and is a good facilitator, and that fits really well in our system. We aren't looking to start him at PG, but as a 20 minute or more per game guy who facilitates and stretches the floor with his shooting, that's a great fit -- particularly when we aren't looking to bring Alexander or Nembhard off of the bench

Kansas State was a game when one of their starters, Miller was out, and Fababello stepped in. It's worth watching how he did

I know he's got his own thread now that he's committed, but I finally got around to watching this clip. Check out the post-entry pass at 2:03. IMO, this is one of the skills (right up there with 3 Pt shooting) that the Jays sorely lacked this year. None of our wings were consistently able (could argue that they were not even inconsistently able) to find that entry pass to the post. It's just one game highlights, but there was a lot to like.

Tyrese Hunter into the portal today. I think the timing of this is pretty obvious. Tyrese wanted to make sure Bello was all in on the Jays before entering the portal so he could jump to the Hilltop with his Big XII brethren. This is probably EXACTLY what Jacob was alluding to in his post about us not being done in the portal. You can take that to the bank and bet the farm. Welcome to the Hilltop Tyrese! Let's go hang some banners!!!

I know its ridiculous, but one can hope right???

Based on absolutely nothing, I wonder if Mac would decide to hang his hat on developing and retaining players in this new era of transferring without sitting out. As some have said, there's a case to be made for bringing in a high-level transfer to take AO's spot, but that would mean someone else leaving. Maybe Mac thinks committing to development is a better way for us to compete and also an easier way to maintain the current culture. Add Commitment to Development to Let It Fly in our branding? Modestas left, so it's not like it would be a guarantee to every player that he gets to stay, but there could be an understanding that we're not pushing out 2 or 3 guys every year to bring in transfers.

Nova basically rolls with the players they recruit, so there's a model for it working. On the other hand, Ed Cooley seems to be taking the opposite approach, loading up on transfers while his recruiting classes have dropped off.

Just an idle thought while waiting for the next F to drop.

He was starting PG for a team that made the tourney, you just never know...most saying it has to do with NIL.
