As much as I think letting go of Mac would be wrong for this one mistake, it may just be necessary at this point to limit any long term damage to the program. I think he’s a great man, and a good coach. I’m scared as hell to start over and be a bottom feeder in the Big East, we’re so close to being “there.” But I don’t even know what the future looks like at this point. I feel for everyone involved. Mac, players, staff, families, etc. I really am not sure what the right direction is for the program

The way I see it is that we already have uncertainty going into next season, so let’s just blow it up now. I also think things will continue to move in the right direction if we hire Drock.

This is where I'm at too. We can keep this ship afloat if we just make moves now. Especially if we hire DRock. Tucker can still come here too if he wants. And a lot of DRock's prominent players are seniors, so he's not really ditching his core group he initially recruited and grew with at Drake if he decided to leave. But he'd only come here if Mac openly resigned and totally accepted it as fair. He won't come if Mac is fired/forced to resign and is resistant to it after the season.

I’m not quite sure the administration fully understands the gravity of what is going on here. If they don’t take some concrete steps very soon, this will set the program back years.

I have no idea what that tweet means - could it mean they aren’t going to be answering any questions about the issue? TyTy’s commitment tweet is still pinned at the top of his Twitter page

Yeah its worded a bit awkwardly but I simply took it as 'Dont ask please, we aren't engaging on that topic'. And why would they want to? I'm sure they are having to confront some difficult emotions right now.

It could be that if Mac is fired or leaves that means probably all of our assistant coaches leave too. Huss was TyTy’s main recruiter which could mean TyTy is gone. Also remember that all the recruits like our offensive style so maybe nobody is interested. DRock doesn’t run the offense we are running now, actually very few teams run that type of offense. Be careful what you wish for.

We're likely losing recruits either way. If Mac is dismissed, it's unlikely our class stays committed unless the next head coach is one of our current assistants or if the next head coach keeps the current coaches in place (and most coaches bring at least one or two of their assistants with them to a new job). If we keep Mac, this is likely going to make it much, much harder to open doors - most kids are probably just going to look at this on its face rather than look at the whole that there's no reason to think this was anything other than an awful, unacceptable, but isolated misspeak. Even down the road a few years from now, do you think opposing teams' recruiters won't bring this up to kids we're also in the mix for?
Remember, we already have to work as it is to get kids to be willing to consider a small Jesuit university in Nebraska (the BE move helped a TON, obviously).
It's also still possible our current commits rethink their decisions to come to Omaha if Mac is still the HC.

+1 and to add to this, DRock is a winner. I have no doubt he’d be able to recruit at the level we need in the Big East.
