Creighton has 12 scholarship kids this year. They have three seniors leaving (Ballock, DJ, Denzel). Thus, assuming all underclassmen come back they have four available slots and two filled so far.

Assuming Z goes pro after this year they would have five slots with two filled. I don’t think the coaches would want five freshmen coming in so maybe one or two more frosh, maybe a transfer, maybe keep one in the pocket.

My two cents.
I don’t vet ‘em, I just post ‘em.

Mike Sautter had this on local kids:

Danair Dempsey, in his first year at Papillion-La Vista South a year ago, quickly became one of the top players in the in-state 2021 class. UNO, Creighton and Valparaiso are schools that have shown interest in the 6-7 versatile forward.

That’s a new name for me.

Starting to look like it’s a two team race for our top two targets.

Miller: CU and Indiana
Washington: CU and Illinois

Really would be a bummer to miss out on both. I’d be on cloud nine to land both, but I really think we need to get one of the two, either would be a massive get. Here’s to hoping they both pick the Jays!

TyTy wants to commit within the next month. Miller before signing period.

Early signing date starts in 12 days, Nov. 11 and ends Nov. 18.
My #1 choice is Miller and always has been.

I think we have a really really chance at TyTy. If Kaufman is going to IU then it'd be between us and LSU. There's still speculation Kaufman ends up at IU even after this "leaked" interview.

Tomorrow is the start of the Nov. early signing period. Along with the 2 commits, I would love to see a surprise signing by a 3rd recruit. Sallis would be a super surprise.

Query: IIR, the NCAA has stated that all students participating this winter will be given an extra year or eligibility and an extra year to complete their eligibility. Therefore, Ballock, DJ and Denzel will all be eligible again next year, is that correct? Am I missing something? While any or all of them may be ready to move on with their lives (I don't see Denzel coming back - but then again, I didn't see him coming back this year), one or a couple might decide to take another run. I don't think Mitch is going on to play NBA or G-league, and I don't know that DJ would get drafted either, though he does have potential, I think, and certainly he and Mitch could go to Europe if they want. In any event, I would take any or all three in a heart beat over about any potential recruit. One way to smooth out the classes is if one or two of them come back next year. Certainly, until each of them states he is moving on with his life, I wouldn't rule out that possibility. And if I have misunderstood what the NCAA stated, then in the infamous words of the immortal Rosanna Rosanna Dana: Never mind.

If that NCAA rule does come to pass officially, I could see Mitch staying another year. I think Denzel and Damien will be ready to move on.
