Not sure if this makes a diff on whether ASU finds itself in Omaha or not.

I don’t vet ‘em, I just post ‘em.

Utah left the Crossover Classic due to rising cases in SD.

Maybe the MTE can snag one of the schools that defected from the failed Disney Bubble attempts. The challenge is, of course, finding a school that's not a member of one of the conferences already in the event. I'm not sure if this will be classified as a new event by the NCAA, but the tourney did relocate from the Bahamas. If it could be counted as a new event, they could theoretically get a team that competed in the Battle 4 Atlantis in the last 4 years (which would mean a high quality program).

I'd be somewhat surprised if the Classic is cancelled at this point given the amount of work it took to relocate it in the first place, so worst case scenario IMO is a Q3 or Q4 replacement that bogs down our shortened non-conference slate.

Positivity rate in South Dakota would trigger a required 14-day quarantine upon returning to Ohio.

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but I can see no possible way this tournament is played.

We will pull out if it in any way affects our chances at playing in the KU game. That’s obviously #1 priority noncon game for us.

Good news is promising vaccine news this morning, so at least the end of this college basketball season may return to a somewhat more normal society.

At this point, this tournament offers very little upside anymore. Almost all of the really good possible opponents have now pulled out, leaving us the chance to play a lot of teams that don't really offer much positive for us to play in an environment that also adds nothing.

This was finally going to be the great preseason tourney we've been waiting for after all of those garbage Maury Hanks circuses, and with a team that was primed to take advantage of the opportunity. That's pretty obviously all shot not.

I won't care at all if we pull out of it at this point. I'd be strongly in favor of contacting West Virginia and trying to coordinate both pulling out and just scheduling the one game out of the tournament that holds some upside for both team.s
