As Rencher gets his feet planted and is able to develop relationships and close on guys - we have a pretty great one two recruiting punch.

Lusk may be a bit underrated on the trail too as he seems to be doing OK with some MW guys.

Love me some DRock, Lutz, etc from staffs of yore - but this current staff IMO is strongest of the Mac era - and one of our best in history.

+1 to this and to Ethanfor3's note also! Jacob said something after Epperson got hurt about seeing Mac's vision for the team (paraphrasing there), but I think we're seeing a recruiting effort that is building a long term vision for this team and that can keep putting talent in place in order to get to the top 10. I am pretty blown away by the difference between the roster this year (even with TSA moving on) compared to the first year in the Big East.

We may be missing a recruiter who can go into the East Coast cities and pull kids, but that's always going to be a difficult sell for us. With this staff we have an International Recruiter (Huss), MIdwest Recruiter (Mac and Lusk), and a Oklahoma/Texas recruiter (Rencher).

Rencher grew up in NY, so may have some ties there, and can certainly give a case for why a kid might want to leave the East Coast and play elsewhere, and Mac's a strong recruiter overall as well.

And, this is a really solid bunch of coaches for practice and games. I especially love the Mac/Lusk combination for Offense and Defense..

Dana O’Neill and Brian Hamilton in their weekly article on The Athletic talk about Jalen Carey being a possible transfer for us along with Alabama, BYU, Marquette, Georgetown, and Rhode Island. Connecticut dropped off. Alabama as the likely landing spot.

14. Both Gach
Old school: Utah | New school: TBA

The 6 foot 6 wing was rated a four-star prospect in the 2018 class by 247Sports and emerged as a key player for Utah last season. He'll have two seasons to play at his new school and should be an impact player. He still needs to develop consistency. But he had some big games last season and averaged 10.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists.

15. Alex O'Connell
Old school: Duke | New school: Creighton

If O'Connell can regain the 3-point shooting stroke he showed as a freshman at Duke, he'll be a perfect fit in a Creighton system that is dependent on the outside shot. Regardless, he should be able to play a larger role at Creighton than the one he played for three seasons at Duke. Perhaps that will be the impetus that finally allows the former top-100 recruit to shine.

Gach and O'Connell would be a great pair to have on the roster for next year. Losing Ballock, Mahoney and Jefferson will take a lot out of our lineup and having two vets like this with their size and skill will help a ton to make the transition

Interesting that we're the only private university in the bunch that's left.

Gach hasn't withdrawn from the NBA draft yet. Here's an article explaining how that complicates his recruitment:

Per Adam Zagoria, a reputable CBB journalist, he now won't announce today.
