"I caught up with Kerwin Walton last week and, sorry to tell you, nothing has changed since the early signing period. He has completed all of his official visits but he is in no rush to make a decision.

Walton even cited what Matthew Hurt, a former travel program teammate, did last year. Hurt waited out the college season, looked at what happened rosters around college rosters and assessed various systems and coaching types before committing. Walton will probably take a similar route.

A final school list has not been formulated but a group consisting of Arizona, Cal, Creighton, Iowa State, Miami, Minnesota, North Carolina, Texas and Vanderbilt remain involved. Arizona garnered most of the talk in the fall and while the Wildcats can be considered one of the leaders, predicting his ultimate landing spot has become more and more difficult the further away that he has gotten from his visits."

Clear as mud!

If the 1 time transfer rule is adopted, more kids may go this route. Sign early for a definate scholarship or wait for teams to transfer in for needs. I would wait to see (for example only) if a Marcus Z leaves. In that case, only 1 sophomore point guard to compete against

Walton is a shooting guard.

Ryan James
@RyanJamesMN
Creighton Head Coach Greg McDermott will be at Hopkins to visit with, and watch Kerwin Walton's game against Minnetonka tonight

Sounds like we are turning up the heat. Maybe we know where Primo is leaning (speculation)? Nice to see us keep options open, he's one of the best shooters in 2020.

So, Lusk, Rencher and/or Huss checking in with Sallis today?

Appears as though we are throwing everything at Walton and Primo for that last spot in the 2020 class. If we don't get either, I'd assume we look for a transfer to fill the spot once the season ends.

Honestly, I'd love to get Walton or Primo. However, if we get neither, not the end of the world. The best available transfer who has to sit out a year might be a more reliable better option anyways.

The reality is that we've already significantly upgraded our team for next year.

The question is what happens with Tyshon and Marcus. I currently view both of them as fringe NBA prospects and I expect them to be back, but I also expected Kyhri to come back. He got drafted and paid, but really hasn't played and I believe he would have benefitted from a year of being the man. I also think Marcus would benefit from coming back...Tyshon I'm not so sure.

If Tyshon leaves it would be nice to add Walton / Primo or keep Davion around.

If everyone returns, it's a Goldilocks scenario. We have a very powerful senior laden team adding epperson, kalkebrenner, Jones and Mintz. That's 10 deep. In that case, add a sit out transfer for next year and call it a day.

TyShon could benefit from another year from a ball handling standpoint. That’s probably the weakest part of his game at the moment. Defensively, he’s NBA ready.

Nothing Earth shattering but we are mentioned by him as onebof the schools recruiting him hardest.....
