He sure looks bad on this video, airballs, clankers, probably more missed shots than makes. Why make a video to include all you bad play. Based on this video, I would say no thanks.

You can’t spell “Modestas” without “modest.” I guess he just wants to show you the good, bad and the ugly.

Video not great, but I remember thinking similar things about Krampelj when he signed out of nowhere. I’ll trust the coaches at this point.

They're earned the benefit of the doubt for sure in terms of scouting. Plus, as Jet said, he was invited to the NBPA Top 100 camp - that indicates to me that he might be pretty decent.
If we could get him and Primo in 2020, look out for us next year. Honestly, any stretch 4 that could play for us and allow us run out a lineup with Denzel at the 3 would be huge (just imagine him regularly posting up guards and the opponent not being able to bring help because you've got the big setting screens on the perimeter and shooters everywhere else)

Denzel does play the 3 for us. And the 2 and the 4. 2-4 right now are 100% positionless. I think he is his own version of a stretch 4. He’s so effective because he has bigger slower dudes on him that he can either go around or shoot over if they sag. Denzel is a 3 level scorer. Stretch 4’s in Creighton recent history haven’t been able to drive like Denzel. That’s what makes Creighton so effective. No one has 4 guards that can guard our 4 guards. If they try putting a bigger guy we just go around them, yet on defense Denzel and DJ can guard 6’7 athletic dudes because they’re strong enough and have a long enough wingspan.

Don’t know how this dude would see the floor next year, even if he is better than what was shown in the video.

Never a guarantee on all those guys returning. Still feel like MZ and TSA will at least look at the pros at the very least. Epperson's health isn't a given either. Mintz is obviously up in the air. Redshirt is always an option as well.

OK, fine. Most of the time the 2-4 is interchangeable offensively. But just a few years ago Huff and Hegner were absolutely not playing the same role as say Foster, Zierden, and Tazz.
Take a look at the other way of looking at this, though - who for the opponent is guarding Denzel right now? Unless he's at the 5, it's the opponents 4 man because you need someone strong on Mahoney and someone preferably longer. So what happens if you were to slide in a stretch 4 like Kancleris - a player that's bigger than Denzel but also a multidimensional scorer? All of a sudden you as the opponent's coach have to throw your 4 onto the stretch 4 because that guy can probably score over the top of the defender in the paint easier than Denzel, which means you now have to put a guard on Denzel.

Exactly. I'll add to it that any player that brings a unique set of tools offensively and can gain Mac's trust (particularly on defense) will have a good chance to play.

I’m sorry I would just take a guy like Denzel (who can score all 3 ways and defend 1-4) instead of him taking some of Mitch’s and TyShon’s minutes at the 3 and playing a freshman stretch 4 next year. I love Hegner and Huff but they got abused defensively and on the glass all while limited on offense. I just think Denzel and Damien are special because they play a lot taller and can still score in a variety of ways.

Denzel comes off the bench currently. Perhaps that doesn't change next season? He continues to play positionless basketball even with Kancleris at the 4, with little or no effect on Ty-Shon or Mitch. There is no guarantee that Kancleris starts, or even plays significant minutes. If we land both Kancleris and Batcho, along with either Walton or Primo, then the musical chairs begin.

Forgive me. I keep forgetting that we're NOT elite, like UK or KU. My bad. ;)

Nobody implied that we were complacent. They just don't think this kid is taking minutes from our current rotation. He'd be a decent redshirt option though.
