I know we didn’t previously.

How do we have any open spots?

The only seniors on the roster are Jones, Mintz, and Scurry.

Scurry isn’t on scholarship, so his departure doesn’t open a spot.

Mintz is not using his senior season - so until we hear he is transferring, his spot isn’t currently open.

Jones’ spot is used by Kalkbrenner.

Where are these open spots coming from?

Believe Scurry is using the open scholarship. Think there are only 12 regular scholarship players on the roster now.

Has there been an announcement about Scurry getting that scholarship again this year? With no mid-year transfer coming in, I wondered if Scurry would get it again or if it might go to Canfield this year since he was getting minutes earlier in the year, or even Zeil who has seen the court more than Scurry has this year.

You are correct. If Mintz returns (which seems like a big if), then we only have one open scholarship for next year. But, in today’s world, there is always a chance we could have someone leave (Mintz and/or someone else).

Would we be interested in recruiting Kobe King as a transfer? He'd really be able to fill in a need after sitting out next year with all our wings set to graduate in 2021.

Mintz will be back from what I hear, plus I do not see him transferring anyways

I feel like everyone is saying the exact opposite? Did you hear this recently?

He left the Wisconsin team yesterday. And jaysfan3, we still have an open scholarship currently without Mintz leaving. We can take a transfer.

Exact opposite of what I hear.

I would expect us to have at least two scholarships open this offseason. Has anyone else heard anything on Windham?

Breaking news to me. Haven't seen anything anywhere else on this. Any more info you can share?

I think "He left the team yesterday" was in regard to Kobe King at Wisconsin. Not alluding to Mintz. I could be wrong, but that's how I read it.
