Re: 2014 SG/SF Ronnie Harrell (Signed)

I always liked Ronnie from the first day I saw him play summer ball at OSA before his freshman year. He was talented and could handle the ball on fast breaks. I figured he would be a star at Creighton but I was wrong along with many others. According to 247sports, he was CU's 2nd highest recruit (0.9624) behind Epperson since 2000. He was also rated the the 84th best player in the nation. At Creighton he showed greatness but only on rare occasions. He had a hard time finishing at the basket after great moves but I still figured he would help us greatly this year and was sad to see him leave.

The fact that Ronnie chose to transfer to Denver, a Summit league school, encapsulated everything I thought about Ronnie. The Summit is not just one level below the Big East like the MVC or A10, but two or more levels lower. One can't help but think that Ronnie was looking for an easier road rather than being constantly challenged and pushed.

Ronnie said he loved everything about Creighton. He is also from The Denver area, his uncle is the head coach of the team and he wanted to be more of a featured player. You cant fault him for not wanting to play center which is what he would probably have played this year anyway. Im pretty sure Ronnie is not the selfish pussy that you make him out to be. Good luck to Ronnie in the pros and thanks for representing CU nicely in your time here RH.

He definitely would not have played center here. But I agree that he left for a featured role.

Not sure this is a great look.

By all accounts Ronnie was a good teammate and solid contributor over his time here.

He left with his degree to play in his home town for his cousin.

We should wish him well.

Ronnie was a good guy and valuable contributor, not great, made many mistakes, but a good teammate. He loved CU but left to play for his uncle from what i understand, makes sense.

Some really cringey posts in this thread, and the fact someone had to go back to his recruiting thread to talk shit is embarrassing. Like others have said, he was a great teammate, and had nothing but great things to say about CU, and vice versa. He went back home to play for a family member, and to be a go to guy. Don’t be a prick.

Your psycho-analysis of teenagers is about as good as your political takes, that you cowardly refuse to defend with facts. It’s embarrassing. Post less.

Creighton invested a ton in Ronnie and he bailed at pay back time. Pure and simple. Could have been a valuable contributor. Got what he deserved.

..... and if he wasn't withholding up his end of the scholarship he would not of made it four years. You don't know his situation nor the details of why he left and maybe he's perfectly happy. He represented Creighton in nothing but a positive way and this thread is embarrassing to the point it is worth making my first post. Is there a way to stick this topic to the bottom of this section?
