Nice. Good to see the Johnnies upping their game, University-wide. Great News for both St Johns and the Big East!

Side note: Those who have long wished for a resurgent ‘old’ BE team (Johnnies, Gtwn, etc.) have finally gotten their wish. But the question is: How long will Sir Richard stick around?

Big East Commissioner Val Ackerman tells HoopsHQ’s Seth Davis that “we’re not establishing any [revenue-sharing] guidelines in the Big East, but there’s a general sense among our schools that they are going to spend what they believe they need to be spending in order to be competitive.” Opendorse Founder Blake Lawrence projects Big East schools will assign $5.7M of revenue to men’s basketball next season compared to $4.4M for the ACC, $4.3M for the Big 12, $3.2M for the Big Ten and $3.1M for the SEC. Davis notes that coaches within the Big East are proceeding with cautious optimism heading into next season, and Creighton HC Greg McDermott explains: “The reality is, we don’t have a huge TV contract in comparison to what the football schools are able to take in. So if we’re going to pay out more in revenue share, we’ve got to raise it, or you have to figure out a way to generate it within your department. That’s not as easy as it sounds, because everybody’s kind of struggling to survive the way it is, but we found a way at Creighton to remain competitive in this environment and I think a lot of our friends across the Big East will attempt to do the same.”

Cool story in the OWH over the weekend about Ty-Shon and Marcus coming back to get their degrees. Marcus didn't walk, but TSA did -- here's a photo of him with Mac after the ceremony.

One tidbit from that article I haven't seen published anywhere yet: Zegarowski will be a graduate assistant on Nate Oats' staff at Alabama next season, reuniting with Preston Murphy.

Good stuff. Rothstein has SJU #3, U Conn #7 and CU #24

Also, in 2 days it will be the cutoff for players to decide whether to stay in the NBA draft or go back to college. This could affect quite a few teams. Sanon at SJU?
