Any fan going in doubting us in this game is a loser and has a loser, mid major mentality. No offense.

I am not a fan of ad hominem attacks.

The ad hominem attacks would be a great band name.

We're a clear favorite, but this team has wilted in big games against lesser competition (e.g., Providence last week in MSG).

Is it a mid-major mindset to observe the recent past and realize low probability outcomes are still possible?

This game should make any Jay fan nervous.

DA is a HOF coach and no one should know that better than Jay fans. In DA we trust was a long time mantra around here and he got the better of Mac in most cases back then.

They have looked outstanding the last two weeks.

One thing I am very encouraged by was our shooting in new arena environment.

I think the fact that we have a veteran squad gives us an edge figuring out that zone a little more quickly than they might need for our defense.

We'll need more from Ash and Miller/bench.

Now, I believe Mac has come a long way as a coach since UNI days. And he has this team in a great spot.

Like that Couisnard went off so we can game plan for him and he should have our attention defensively.

This game will be a war. But I like our chances.

Matt DeMarinis talks to Bruce Rasmussen ahead of Creighton vs. Oregon on Saturday night.

Several topics discussed including:
- Thoughts/emotions going into Creighton-Oregon
- Pride in how Creighton has evolved under Dana Altman and Greg McDermott
- Kevin McKenna’s impact in getting each program to this stage
- When he knew Dana and Mac had Creighton moving in the right direction
- Thoughts on why Creighton means so much to both men personally

This is posted up on our Patreon for subscribers but we did go ahead and opened it up for free to all. Enjoy.

Altman is a gun slinger, but we know the tricks up his sleeve. Bluejays 74 - Ducks 67

Both things can be true:
- Creighton fans should be a little nervous because Oregon is a good team coached by a hall of famer
- Creighton fans tend to assume the worst and lack confidence in big games. I mean there were some on this board acting like Akron was a huge challenge - it ended up being CU’s largest NCAA tourney win.

Oregon’s season says nothing about the team they are at this point.

If you could put the Ducks last 5 games on Bart Torvic they would rate among the best in the country.

They are on a heater.

They pass the eye test right now with flying colors.

That being said, I’ve only seen one game, but in that one game they looked really good.

Hopefully we are not running into Dana’s version of Valvanos 83 NC State national champs. Those guys had to win the ACC Tourney to get into the dance. Like these Ducks.

Since March 8, Torvik has Creighton 19th and Oregon 20th. That's only two weeks, but its 5 games for the Ducks.

Here's my game preview for Hurrdat Sports. Includes some interesting zone statistics for both teams among other things.

Thanks Jacob! Your analysis really aids my understanding of the game, because I'm pretty much a dummy about X's and O's.
