Maybe I’m naive but I don’t see that as a good move. A couple more good years at ISU he’d have options for better jobs

Who says he can't move on next year? Although not everyone can climb the Steve Lutz upward ladder. At this rate, Lutz's will be Calipari's replacement in Kentucky in 2025.

Massive pay increase and perhaps many of his key players will follow him there. He probably would have had a tough time keeping that team together at ISU.

SLU has pretty good facilities too - Xavieresque. It's a smart move for a guy who probably could have had the Louisville job. Just remember - wasn't long ago he was a high school coach and he's probably still learning about coaching college basketball. Love it or hate it - the Valley is more of a launching pad anymore with an exception for maybe Jake.

It's too bad for ISU and fans - they had that game won the other night - the end of game management of not running clock and jacking threes cost them the W

For whatever reason, it just seems really hard to win at SLU, especially this century. Despite all of the positives noted by others, they have a hard time getting it done. I’m not surprised he’s leaving ISU, just thought he’d end up at somewhere much better than SLU.

Not saying I think Hurley would leave UConn, but Kentucky has an insane amount of money to throw at someone and he's the only one in the country worth breaking the bank for. Scott Drew and Nate Oats are the other obvious ones. Otzleberg could be interesting.

Not sure who else moves the needle for them.

I’d call McDermott
