Takeaway from the chart in previous post is that Creighton will not face St John's in the quarterfinal round.

With the 2-seed, Creighton will face Providence, Nova, X, or Georgetown.
With the 3-seed, Creighton will face Providence, Nova, or DePaul.

Based on his "weighted" calculations. Looks to me like the percentages are...
46.8% chance we play Providence (30 out of 64 chances)
34.3% chance we play Nova (22 out of 64 chances)
18.8% chance we play The Johnnies (18 out of 64 chances)

Apparently, he doesn't see a scenario where we would play DePaul or Georgetown. But yeah, anything is possible

Unless I am missing something...

Easier to look at the potential outcomes chart. In any scenario in which Creighton is the 2 seed, St. John's can't be the 7. And in any scenario in which they Jays are the 3, the Johnnies aren't the 6.

Yes, you're right. Need to recalculate.

Ok, I did...

As a 2...
X (10 of 24) 41.7%
Prov (8 of 24) 33.3%
N (6 of 24) 25%

As a 3
Prov (4 of 8) 50%
N (4 of 8) 50%

Someone want to blend the 2 to get the overall possibilities? :)

All possibilities aren’t equal. You can basically remove any possibility that involves a DePaul or Georgetown win. And even then some are a lot more likely than others

X, Providence or Nova are good quarterfinal tests but getting a win and an M loss sending SH to the bottom bracket is about as good as you could want for a path to the final. Nothing easy but UCONN, M and STJ on the other side is a-okay.

One nice thing about 2 seed is you're not playing @9:30 Thursday night

Correct. The author's disclaimer... "Weighted odds of each outcome are a blend of Kenpom Ratings and Team Predictive Ratings". So there is certainly room for speculation. They aren't definitive by any means.

Was thinking the same thing as I was watching the UConn Marquette game last night when they showed the bracketing with the Jays as the 3 seed. 9:30 game then 8:00 the next night. Getting back to the hotel around 12:30-1:00???? Hmmmm Maybe not a big deal. But it's certainly NOT IDEAL.

As a 2 seed it's a 7:00 Quarterfinal game.
