This kind of game it kills to not have a bench. 2 or 3 guys that can give different looks, use some fouls, and give our starters a rest. When the other team is just licking their chops and filling it up you need the above or the ability to change D looks. We just didn't, or couldn't even try, either.

This game was lost by not going to some type of zone or double teaming Telford. He pretty much ate up Baylor one on one at the end and got them every bucket they needed down the stretch. It was a very glaring mismatch. We made him look like Karl Malone, automatic from 10 feet. Can’t just keep same man and man to man when a guy is dominating.

Gotta regroup and fight hard on the road coming up @Prov, @X, @Butler. Win 2 or 3 of those and this loss won’t hurt

Yes, it is a bad loss. They were on the bubble cut line. We were 9.5 point favorites. They’re not a bad team, clearly. But you can’t lose games at home in conference when you’re 9.5 point favorites and you score 98. We lose at home to Nova w/out Justin Moore and lose at home to Butler w/out Posh.

Another year, no bench. It’s not sustainable to play guys the minutes we are.

Jays had some chances at the end, but they went 1-7 from the field (including 0-4 on game-tying 3-point attempts) with 2 turnovers in the last 4 minutes of the game. Can't have that many empty possessions in a high-scoring game like this.

Easily the worst defensive performance of the season. The roster is not exactly full of naturally gifted defensive players. If the drop coverage is not working, then they are going to struggle. They just don't have much defensive versatility.

This is one of those games where I cannot wait for Jacob’s deep dive analysis. Was the defense as bad as the casual observer might claim? Was this CU ineptitude or holy shit Butler shot-making? Probably a lot of both, but I’m looking forward to an unemotional overview.

7-2 in last 9. Ashworth has found something, which has me as excited as anything. I don’t feel as bad about this loss as Villanova, UNLV, or Colorado State. This felt a bit more fluky. I hope it was. Again, on to Providence. Finish 7-2 in our last 9 with a win over #1 and we are right there heading into Big East tourney.

They shotgunned crap in all night and still only won because some goof blasted a 40 footer on his way to the locker room at half.

The usual suspects on here are talking about where the game was lost but it really wasn’t lost, it was won. I’m not thrilled but if your end of benchers shoot lights out and even come off the pine cold and sink two clutch FTs, you should win.

Just sucks that it came at our expense.

Flawed team. Mac hasn’t done anything to recruit depth or develop young guys.

And another thing: Ashworth took another step forward in being an integral part. He’s getting down hill a lot more now than earlier in the season. Big plus tonight there.

We are what we are but the development part is BS.

If we can have SA shoot that way and he keeps playing with the confidence he had none of for the 1st 10-12 games of the season, Jays should be ok. One or 2 games in a long conference season crazy shit happens. Tonight was one of them, some of which is our fault to not have the personnel or the know-how to switch looks, be able to double or hedge and recover better. It just didn't happen, and things rolled downhill fast on that end of the court. The other part is Butler shot the ball out of their ass and won't have another game close to that the rest of the way where they basically miss nothing for like 12 straight possessions.
