UConn Game Thread

Given our notable defensive struggles when other teams go small and pull Kalk out of the lane, I'm not convinced having Clingan play is all that bad for us. UCONN is the real deal, but we're not so shabby ourselves. Got nothing to lose in this one. Play loose, play as the underdog, hit some shots and play D like we know how and it'll be a close one at the wire.

I'd prefer Clingnan to not play. The last thing the Jays need is more frontcourt depth on the opposing team. King hasn't quite gotten over the hump of playing extended BE minutes, and riding Kalk 38 minutes while UConn rotates their bigs is not part of the winning recipe to beat them on their home court, IMO. Clingan's back up has acquitted himself well. I attribute Kalk bricking those 3 consecutive FT's against SJU to tired legs.
If the 3's don't fall for us, the over is going to look like a good bet.

Jays anywhere from +5.5 to +6.5. This is a winnable game with or without Clingan. Hopefully the ball goes in for us and not for them.

We need to shoot better than 30% from 3, and Karaban can't go off like he did UCONN's last game.

Can we PLEASE have one of those 13-25 nights from 3?!

Can we all just marvel at the fact that little ol' Creighton is now the biggest game on the Big East schedule for UConn? No way anyone could have predicted that from the Valley days. Between all the preseason talk about wanting to beat Creighton last year and pulling out all the stops for the game tonight ...

Looks like Clingan is active but not starting. If he plays, it probably won't be a ton.

Not anticipating a win but would like us to remain competitive and continue to show growth (most clearly on the offensive end). Very focused on what Ashworth gives in these kinds of high profile matchups now that we are halfway into the season.
