I wonder where REALITY slithered off to. Definitely a guy who would prefer to be right and the Jays sucking than the Jays being successful in the last month of the season.

Must be off tormenting some democrat candidate.

Just a phenomenal end to the season by Mac and the guys. Just think back to Feb 7th coming off that heartbreaking OT loss to Providence. We were 7-5 in the league, 16-7 overall and facing the toughest part of our schedule down the stretch. 7-1 to close including a dominant victory over UConn and only losing to St Johns when we had road tilts at X, Butler, St Johns, and Nova to finish. Seriously impressive, and puts us in conversation for that 2 seed with an outside (extremely outside) chance at a 1 if everyone 4-9 falters.

Came into the weekend right on that 3/4 cut line with a loss likely dropping us down. Now, with 8 Q1 wins, 8 road victories, and a 2nd place BE finish, our floor is a 4 seed. That is really only if disaster strikes with a Georgetown loss or a blowout loss to Providence. This is just because Kentucky, Bama, and Illinois are right there. There is not a ton separating 4-16 in the bracket. I'd say right now, we're firmly behind UNC, Zona, and Tennessee, but ISU, Baylor, Marquette, Duke, us and Kansas are all jumbled together.

I'd give us the following odds:
80% 3 seed. If we win our first game and lose our 2nd or beat Providence => Nova it's not going to move the needle too much. Even a Prov loss shouldn't hurt too much though.
5% 4 seed. Disaster scenario outlined above. Our NET and other metrics would need to take a huge hit since our Q1/2 wins, SOS, and road wins are impressive.
14% 2 seed. Not so unattainable as it was just 2 weeks ago. Beating Marquette again, IMO and then even losing to UConn would give us a 2. ISU has good wins but an atrocious OOC. Baylor and KU are good, but our resume is better at the moment.
1% 1 seed. Hey, the stars could align - would require both Zona and Tennesse dropping early in their tourneys as well as UNC

Predicting CU as #6 today:

Would that be a new program high water mark?

This late in the season to be in the Top Ten, I would have to think so!

Interesting that in the AP Arizona dropped only one spot despite being blown out by a bad USC team that won't be in the NCAA tourney, Iowa State dropped only one spot despite losing to an unranked KState team that won't be in the NCAA tourney, but Duke dropped two spots for losing to a top five North Carolina team. And Marquette dropped two spots for losing to UConn and beating X.

Ending the regular season in the top 10 is great, and the Big East tourney likely won't have much potential for negative impact on rankings or seeding, so the Jays put themselves in a good position heading toward selection Sunday.

They are watching Torvik. Posted yesterday that Torvik had us as a 3rd line 2 seed. That's #7.

Arizona and Iowa State lost on the road while Duke lost at home.
