A good backup PG who can play 10 without sucking would help, but isn’t mandatory. If Kalk doesn’t come back, I think Green makes a huge step knowing he’s the guy. Otherwise, spend some scholarship money and NIL without breaking the bank on some guys who can be challenging practice players. I just don’t see a lot out there that are likely attainable who are better than what we have.

We will get some high level guys. We are a top 25 program. There are a bunch of high level players that are attainable.

This is professional basketball now. There should never be “transition” years.

But there will be though, and to expect otherwise is silly and counterproductive.

To feel like there shouldn’t be transitional periods leads us one step closer to acting like Kentucky’s fan base.

With the rules as they are, Creighton should be able to be a top 25 team each year.

If Trey or Kalk are gone, I wouldn’t mind a rebuild year. May explain why the staff has been targeting quite a few transfer sophomores. Get McAndrew, Johnson, and Davis experience and use the two years of eligibility for transfers to get ready for another run 25-26.

I completely disagree with TBJ.

There will be ranges of performance, and to say that the bottom end of our range should still be top 25 is funny to me. Not only are we not quite that program YET, it ignores all the nouveau riche schools like St. John’s who get a good owner willing to spend limitless amounts of funds. If you have one of those you’ll vault straight up, definitely surpassing teams like CU when it’s in a down cycle.

This mindset is a terrible road to go down, because it sets expectations so high that misery will follow. Don’t do it.

My guess is our coach would agree that we should be a top 25 or at least battling for that each and every year.

not for nothing, but professional teams also have transition years and rebuilds.
