After game they said it was a surprise that he could play at all; thought his career was over after the latest injury. And another great story as Hunter recovered from heart attack and made 3 treys last night.

X is good enough to keep this run going. Need to continue to limit their typical silly turnovers and get back to their 79% free throw average. Conwell has more in him than what he showed last night. Freemantle has matured and was able to stay focused. The role players were outstanding, probably Foster’s best game of the season.

Not sure it’s a surprise that Hopkins in portal. That was the speculation in Providence all season.

Article in today’s Hartford paper about ACC “courting” UConn.

Would suck if they left. That said the conference has great success before they rejoined, and will have it again if they leave

The Big East needs to leverage that if UConn leaves again, they don’t get to schedule games at MSG. That would be painful for them. And there should never be any consideration of letting them come back again.

I hate that Pitino and Hurley are both talking every chance they get about wanting to see a Big East / ACC merger.

I would love to see the math on what acc is offering and how UConn can afford buyout.

And if FSU, Clemson and Miami leave the ACC and replace with UConn that is a suckass football conference with zero TV appeal (especially if ND bails too, which is likely).

I would be fine with them leaving and the fat Buyout they will owe and them leaving all their NCAA units behind.

There isn't one thing that is likeable about UConn.

Big East getting stapled to a football conference becomes a necessity when they wall themselves off from the rest of Division 1 which is likely in the near-ish future. ACC makes the most sense in that event. But it's also very possible the Big 10 and SEC just leave others hanging.

If you aren't a core member of those two conferences there is no security right now for anyone.

I’ll be interest how this all is going to effect basketball which as been dominated by not the big 10 or sec (4 titles in 25 years) where as it’s the opposite in football (18/25)

That's true, but I also think the B10/SEC are looking at this as another opportunity to divide the College sports world into haves/have-nots, given the money the SEC has spent on coaches/facilities (and likely on influencing ESPN and others)

I hate that we are in this situation, but also recognize that maybe the BE does need to look at an ACC/BE basketball conference of some sort. More fans and visibility means a lot more clout, and I don't think the BE has much clout at all in the basketball world right now -- even the Nova/UConn titles are basically ignored
