That one hurt (they all do but the jays had a double digit lead). Playing for second and NCAA seeding now and baring a couple upsets they come through these next 5 pretty clean. Take 2 in NY and maybe a 6 seed?

yeah, definitely being dramatic but just the opportunity to sweep uconn, preserve home court against them, and then get a ten game conf win streak? it was a lot to lose. especially because i think we gave it away to some extent. it was us not closing and mcneely playing out of his mind.

but oh well. excited to finish strong and see what we can do in the postseason.

That loss was on Mac. He seemingly was watching the Dan Hurley show and giggling at the opposing coaches antics rather than coaching his team. The Big East championship was right in front of us and Mac didn’t just slice one into the rough… he completely whiffed. Maybe Mac should pay Pitino to come in and give his dealing with adversity speech to him and our team. We need to get tough yesterday but today we really need to prove we are tougher than we were in DC.
At Creighton Bob Gibson majored in sociology and starred in Basketball and Baseball. In 1957 Gibson received a $3,000 sign-on bonus with St. Louis Cardinals, but delayed his HOF Cards career a year to play pro B-ball with the Harlem Globetrotters.

.

I want to feel sorry for all the fans who must have paid hundreds in markup just for a get in the door ticket to watch this mess. But if you’re a St John’s fan, you probably figure you’re still getting your money’s worth.

And if you’re a UConn fan, I hope you paid a couple grand, got an Uber to take you all the way down there, then when they scanned your ticket, you found out you got scammed. So, you went home early, all pissed and dejected, only to find your wife in bed with another guy. Who turned out to be a St. John’s fan.

And yeah, I’m bummed that we were caught unprepared for the McNeely Show. Tough L to swallow.

Don't diminish the role of the student section. McNeely started hot and then had a chip on his shoulder to stick it to students that were all over his coach. Students lost plenty of CU fans with their classless words. It was tough to cheer because you couldn't follow their lead. Once he got shot hunting, it worked out great for them.
Then we created a monster with Hurley after the game with the rings. He has a circle around the CU games because of how we treat him. He loves taking on the crowd. Foster used to love jaw jacking with the opponent. It made him better, because that was what he did on the playground. Then we played K State and he wanted to be nice to them. That wasn't his style. Be careful which tiger you taunt.

Yeah the students hard on for Hurley was cringe worthy for me but I liked it a lot more when Johnnies fans copied us in MSG today! It seemed to work out for them! They actually have tough ass defenders who shut McNeely down.

Last 2 games of the season for Marquette:
1. At U Conn
2. Home against SJU

It seems like it would be good for us if MU lost at least one of these games for CU to finish second. Obviously, we have to take care of business at the Hall and at home against Butler.

Thoughts?

Haven’t done the math myself but I read that if CU wins these last 2 they are the 2 seed no matter what Marquette does.
I don’t vet ‘em, I just post ‘em.

Yes, we control our destiny. Win and we are 2 seed.
