Really regressed as the nation’s leader in assists this season. We needed him more than he needed us. Net neutral move for him.

Is that true tho? See post above.

Think about it for R2, no closer to the NBA then he was here, pretty confident money isn’t better at Zaga, significantly less exposure once tbe non con ends.

Would have been mutually beneficial for Both had that union stayed

Against a massive downgrade in competition … turnovers up, scoring down, rebounds down.

Part of his bad habits is playing so hard for assists that he passes up great looks for decent looks on an assist. Way more forgivable for an underclassman than a senior.

He’s a modestly better player than Ashworth but his growth just absolutely flatlined.

Mac chose culture over all with Ash over R2

And it's hard to argue the decision.

And this is not saying R2 was a culture issue as a person or player, he just chose (as it was explained to me) to set the precedent that when R2 left for NIL that at CU, if you do that, we wish you all the best of luck but now the door is closed. Establishing and mainting integrity in your culture is the most important thing in team building athletics, business, life, etc. and that is why Mac the best in the biz

I wouldn't go that far if you understand the Fanta situation and where that might have been going.

But overall agree.

Mac made a commitment to Ash while it was playing out and stuck to that.

You are going to have to educate me on the Fanta situation

I think it was some time after our E8 loss in 2023. Fanta tweeted that one of Creighton's player's parents was talking about how their son was not allowed to showcase his NBA potential while playing for Mac. Multiple posters here clarified that he was referring to Nembhard. I can't remember if that came out before or after the transfer was announced. Still, just like the transfer itself, that tweet came out of left field for most of us because there had been zero indication of any troubled waters during the season.
