Stayed there a few weeks ago and will be back there again in March...
Overall, it's a bit of an older hotel that attracts a lot of locals who don't want to go and deal with all the congestion on the strip. They refurbished the rooms and corridors on each floor a couple years ago and it's nicely improved. They also have a free shuttle that runs from approximately 9 a.m. until Midnight that will drop you off in the middle of the strip (at the Linq) and take you back to The Orleans as well... You do usually have to show a room key or players card from The Orleans or Gold Coast to take the shuttle. The last time the Jays played there (Orleans Arena), I stayed at the property and would recommend that route unless you want the full on Vegas Strip experience. As another poster said, it does kind of feel like you are on an island at times based on its proximity to the Strip.
