Seemed like Telfort was kind of having his way with Green. Butler is such a weird team to match up with. But they also can’t guard anyone.

Pretty sure it was his defense last night, but to be fair, Telfort is just a tough matchup for us, and they just had guys shooting lights out in that first half

I must be completely blind, then. Because it looked to me like Green was playing really solid D and forcing Telfort to hit some tough shots (which, to be fair, in the first half everyone on Butler was doing at a crazy clip again). Mason, on the other hand, looked like he was running around totally lost, nearly falling over constantly, and seemingly not making an impact on defense at all, while Butler as a whole quit making everything they threw up in the second half. Was there really something about Mason's defense that was having a bigger impact? And Butler did go on a run to cut the lead down to 6 because our defense as a whole was not able to get stops for a stretch.

Really happy to see Mason hit one. Really curious whether his "true" performance can be closer to what we got from him shooting last season or this season, and really wondering how much the off season injury plays into his struggles this year.

It was his first made field goal since Jan 14 so hopefully there's at least middle ground between last season and once every couple months.

Green wasn’t bad, but Saturday was far from his best defensive effort. And he doesn’t bring enough on offense to justify playing him when his defense lapses.

… compared to the Miller we’ve seen this year?

Interesting.

It’s obvious that Green has been better than Miller for months, but Green had several lapses defensively on Saturday and that’s why he was benched.

Miller is generally good at running people off the three point line, which is what we needed in this game after Butler got off to that blistering start. We were getting whatever shots we wanted, so it didn’t matter so much that his lack of offense was out there.

I think Mac uses Miller and Davis like he used Tyler Clement and Jett Canfield. Although they are not walk ons Miller and Davis must be doing all the “right” things on the practice court, and he’s sending a message to everyone that you’ve got to stick to the routine or your going to lose minutes.
At Creighton Bob Gibson majored in sociology and starred in Basketball and Baseball. In 1957 Gibson received a $3,000 sign-on bonus with St. Louis Cardinals, but delayed his HOF Cards career a year to play pro B-ball with the Harlem Globetrotters.
