A lot of teams leave Kalkbrenner open for 3 pointers. I am confident in his ability to make them. What do people think about him shooting whenever he is open? He is a team player so he probably wouldn’t do that but I would like him to hunt for a 3 point shot rather reluctantly take them.

He's only going to shoot it when he feels comfortable and confident. He's shooting the percentage he is mostly because he's only taking really open ones with his feet set and his shoulders squared. It's rarely his first option or instinct on a play; he's not a guy who's going to hunt 3-point shots because that's not his strength. Getting to the point he's at now where he can occasionally take advantage of teams leaving him open is still a valuable added weapon for Creighton.

Seems to me he is most accurate from top of the key or very nearly top of the key. I know he made the one long one from off to the left a bit (if I recall) when the shot clock was winding down. But most of his misses seem to be when he is off center a bit. But, it is great that he is ready and willing to take the shot if defense leaves him unguarded up to and can knock them down from there at a pretty good clip.

He's 9-21 on the season for 43% - Let if Fly from three, Kalk!
